Perfect Hämeenlinna break
Reviewed By sassyray_2008Perfect location for a break in Hämeenlinna. Very central for shops, great staff and food. The bar staff were very welcoming and looked after use well. We had amazing food in the restaurant both at breakfast and in the evening. The pool and Sauna were great for relaxing

Nice Different Place

Review based on a one-night stay in March’22 (background of spending 80+ nights per year in different hotels around the globe). Location: Quite well located just on the border of city center, away from the main commotion but still just a short walk away from the restaurants, shops and bars. The main bus station close by, distance to the railway station 1.5km. With car the E12 highway is very easily reachable. Room: Had a room at the ground floor next to the main entrance. On the smaller side but enough for a single night without any big luggage etc. Some issues with soundproofing though, as the room has just a regular thin door to the corridor. So it was rather obvious every time somebody entered the building or went out. Having said that, luckily there was not really any major problem. Room was very clean, no signs of usage anywhere. Etc: Good breakfast served to the table. Check-in & out was very efficient. Would I return there? Yes sure, a nice place offering something else than the regular big hotel experience

Peaceful and Comfortable stay again!
Reviewed By vasavaprThis was our third stay at this hotel. Decision to choose this hotel was easy and based on our previous positive experiences. During this stay we were travelling with an infant and requested a room with a crib. We were not just given a room with a crib but it was also a room with a great view of the lake Vanajavesi. Our room was clean with all the usual amenities (locker, tea/coffee maker, small fridge etc.). The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and shower was tidy. Our daughter also slept well in the crib provided by the hotel. The breakfast was usual Sokos breakfast with continental and finnish options. It was good spread with lots to choose from. The hotel is within short walking distance from the railway station and within walking distance from the city center. The Häme castle and other tourist attractions are within short walk from the hotel. Parking fees at hotel were reasonable at 14 EUR/day. We had a peaceful and comfortable stay at this hotel. We will certainly consider staying here again.

We were excited to visit Finland and stay at a spa hotel by the lake and we're not disappointed with the location or the views from the hotel. The room itself was of average 3* hotel quality - nothing fancy but it was clean and had basic amenities. The included breakfast was good and the views from the restaurant are amazing. ? We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant because we were warned by our friends not to, so I can't comment on the rest of the food. So great location, friendly and helpful staff, 3* facilities and a great breakfast. All in all it's OK.

Reviewed By SuviN2We stayed in a superior room with sauna in the side building Ratsula. Room was spacious, beds comfortable and the sauna was a nice addition. We got a reopening deal. Overall the hotel was very average, nothing special apart from the main building itself. Would not have been worth the full price. No minibar, fridge or coffee making facilities in the room. Poor service at the restaurant, I wrote a separate review. Breakfast was good. I loved the emmer wheat porridge.

Reviewed By dadsasdasdI would give this place 3.5 stars if possible in Tripadvisor. Excellent location and otherwise quite good hotel somewhat let down by a noise problem. Review based on a one-night stay in November (background of spending 80+ nights per year in different hotels around the globe). Location: Very well located in the immediate city center along the pedestrian street. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and things to do within the walking distance. 1.5km / 15min walk to the railway station. Room: Had a basic room at the 5th floor, which was not the biggest I’ve seen but certainly not the smallest either. The room had been renovated not too long ago, everything was very clean with no stains or signs of usage anywhere. The biggest flaw in the room was the connecting door to the room next door. I’ve never seen this particular feature being implemented in a way that is really able to block the noise from the other room and unfortunately that problem was very clear here too. I can understand why it is convenient, but the flipside of the coin is that it’s not really great at all if you can hear absolutely everything that’s happening in the other room. It is more or less the same as hanging a curtain between the rooms: you cannot see but you can certainly hear… Etc: Check-in & out was very efficient. Breakfast was not really a luxurious event as such but provided a rather good selection of different Would I return there? Yes I would, nothing really to complain about especially if you manage to get a room without the connecting door

Basic hostel in Hämeenlinna
Reviewed By Ludwig HStandard hostel a walking distance away from Hämeenlinna centre. No reception available so suitable mainly for independent travellers without need of assistance. Kitchen pretty dirty so might be tricky to cook here. Quite cheap though so would recommend for budget travellers travelling in groups.
