What a disappointment!
Reviewed By jnhaThe hotel is operating well below the level such a hotel should feature. Sofitel is expected to be a luxury brand of Accor hotels and many yhings were terribly disappointing. Some examples: - the furniture is in bad shape - more than one hour waiting for a simple room service order (a glass of cold milk and a pot of hot water) - no towels and no water in the fitness center (otherwise well equipped) - at check-in they do not say what half-board plan means at this hotel (breakfast and lunch, which is a bit surprising when check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 12 noon... ) - at dinner (which is not included in the half-board scheme), no "à la carte" options. The guests have no choice but a three-course menu at a fixed price. - we asked for a cocktail at dinner time, but even though the bar is just a flight of stairs down, our request was flatly denied - at breakfast (buffet style, included in the half-board plan), i asked an expresso coffee, and I was told it would be charged separately. - we had only one bathrobe in our suite. We asked for a second one, it took more than one hour and a half to be delivered... - the bathroom amenities were very minimal As a conclusion, the hotel did not meet our expectations. I've stayed in Sofitel hotels in various countries and this one is clearly the worst one I've ever seen.

Nice Hotel with pool, closed to beach
Reviewed By Juerg_NWe didn't make a reservation, just dropped in. Since it was low season, we could get a better room for the price of basic room. Late check-out was also no problem. Very nice hotel with small outdoor and a small indoor pool, sauna, etc. Nice decorations all over the house. All was well maintained, except our bathroom, which needs a fresh up. Staff was really nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We can recommend this hotel.

There are two pools indoors , with warm water , in case of rain or even cold weather , you can enjoy and have a lot of fun even though.

Pleasant Pousada Guaruja
Reviewed By GlobeCThis was my first visit to Guaruja but sadly the weather was bad for the first few days.Pleasant helpful owner Claudius good breakfast & wifi worked okay & my room was fine for the price.Only about 5/10 mins walk to large beach Enseada.I didn"t self cater here but you can if you want.The Pousada has character with plants,at least 4 cats,a dog & noisy old parrot so not recommended if you don"t like animals.I did get a chance to try the splendid pool on the last day.The Pousada is on an unpaved road so best to walk to/from beach on parrallell road Atlantica especially after heavy rain.I did find a couple of restaurants offering Prato Execitivo dinners for about 33 reals plenty of food for me beef one day & lovely fish Cambuci another day.

A little pricy
Reviewed By Sebastian PIt is not a bad hotel but a little pricy compared to what you get further away from Sao Paulo. Rooms are quite small if you travel with a kid. Breakfast is great with excellet service most of the time. Sometimes some of the staff are there to collect salary instead of giving service. E.g. A breakfast staff that did not know where the omeletts were made or the another employee wandering the corridors that could not point us to our room. As one a few good alternatives close to SP this is an OK getaway if it wasnt so pricy. on the other hand everything is pricy around SP.

Reviewed By traspolmukiThe hotel is simply marvelous. The hotel staff is always available for you and they were very indeed and helpful. For example, they received us with the room climatized. The rooms were clean, including all the amenities. They have also small fridge. The hotel ambient is pretty quiet and very comfortable, the hotel has outdoor pool (with raised spa), game room, sauna... Really amazing! WIFI works perfect, high speed. The buffet breakfast was awesome includes typical brazilian foods and fruits, also international and very good quality. The location is perfect, very very close to the beach. Hotel has secured parking. Looking for the next time to visit it! Thanks for all!! ?
