Book it!!

This hotel was one of the best stays during our visit to the Balkan. Suzana and her husband were great hosts. Hats off to being the perfect hosts - always available but never overwhelming. The location was PERFECT! It is right by the crooked bridge and is within a short walking distance to the restaurants and the famous old bridge. Tucked away from the Main Street to ensure a good night's sleep while being close to all the actions. The room was renovated with everything you’d need - Nice shower, strong wifi, and a comfy bed. Parking was available on site for 5 euros. Highly recommended!!

Amazing suite

Reviewed By cindywZ7464ME

We booked a junior suite room for 1 night, and it turned out to be a 1 bedroom apartment with a kitchen, 1.5 bath, a separate living room/study, and a terrace. What a great deal! My only minor complaint was the towel situation- we didn’t have two full sets of towels and the half bath didn’t have any. But since we were only there for one night, it wasn’t a big deal. The hotel is centrally located and surrounded by tons of bars. Parking is at a lot nearby for 10 euros/day (with the hotel discount). The pool/sauna was another nice treat after week-long vacation in the Balkan. Staff was friendly and check-in process was fast and easy. Highly recommended.

Warm welcome

Reviewed By tassieBerlin

Despite complications with google maps and the one-way streets we finally found the hotel with the car and received a very warm welcome from the staff, who provided bountiful information for our stay. The location is very central, just minutes away from the famous bridge and most of the other sights. The room was spacious and modern. Luckily with an aircon as it was over 30oC outside. It is a listed building, so there is no lift, but the staff were happy to help carry the luggage up and down the stairs. The breakfast was plentiful and filled our needs and more. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening on the veranda. This provided a picturesque setting for the set meu experience, which certainly filled our appetites. They also serve à la carte. Many of the younger waiting staff seemed to be in training, but were very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, but could be better

Reviewed By John W

Our first visit to Bosnia, and this hotel is only a 15 or 20 min walk to the main tourist area. The bedrooms were really large, clean and comfortable. The reasons I have only awarded 3 stars is there is no separate bar or lounge area- after a day exploring we went back to the hotel to have a drink. As the 4 or 5 seats outside the hotel were all taken, we sat in the seats in reception. The receptionist said she could not serve us a drink in reception, only in the area outside. When I said they were all taken I got a shug of the shoulders. Also as in another review we had a issue with the air conditioning, we reported this to reception who reset the system and it started to work, but it stopped in the middle of the night which meant we had a broken nights sleep.

Hostel Franz Ferdinand

Hostel Franz Ferdinand is a newly opened hostel located in the very heart of Sarajevo. If you are looking for a comfortable accommodation in the center, easy on the pocketbook too, to sleep in a private rooms or mixed dorms – look no further. In a charming building, built in the Austro-Hungarian period, young architects and designers refurbished the space and shaped a hostel that tells you a story of the event that initiated the First World War and forever marked Sarajevo on the map of the world – the assassination of the Austro-Hungarian archduke and Royal Prince Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie. Every room in the hostel is authentic and you can choose to sleep in the Franz Ferdinand Room, Sophie Chotek Room, the Young Bosnia Room or the assassin Gavrilo Princip Room or rather, take the romantic room of the couple in love, the Sophie and Franz Room. From the quiet street where the Franz Ferdinand Hostel is, everything is close at hand. The street directs you to the main pedestrian zone. The most popular gathering places, clubs and restaurants in the city, are in the street right across it. The old part of the city, Baščaršija, is only a couple of minutes walking distance away from our hostel, and the distance is approximately the same to the center of the Sarajevo festivals, by which the city became well known in the after the war period. If you want to see all the landmarks of the city, which we cordially recommend, from the Franz Ferdinand Hostel, you can take a short walk to most of them.
