Comfortable Hotel, Great Pool, But a Bit Far From the Restaurants
Reviewed By ndserWe stayed in a double sea-view room on the top floor of Hotel Calina in Port Lligat for 1-night in mid-May (€146). The hotel has a resort vibe, fronting the harbour and arrayed in a 3-floor “U” around a huge pool & patio with plenty of loungers. Our room, with a view across the pool to the ocean, was airy & white, with double glass doors opening onto a large deck with chairs & a table and a pleasant view. The room was furnished with a king bed & side tables, desk & chair, large TV, mini-refrigerator, large closet with plenty of storage space and a safe. The bathroom had a tub/shower but, unfortunately, the very small glass screen did little to stop shower spray from soaking the room. Breakfast was disappointing – perhaps because the staff could not keep up with the demand from the largely French crowd – there were few fruit options and the warm food selections left much to be desired. And food was a bit of an issue here. The only options in Port Lligat are two beach bars that close in the late afternoon; for dinner, the only option was a long walk into Cadaques or driving through the sometimes confusing streets. In summary, Hotel Calina was a comfortable hotel with a great pool and a resort vibe, but be aware you will not be in Cadaques – you will be in Port Lligat, which has little to offer other than Dali's house and a tiny coarse-stone beach. We were happy with our 1-night stay, but for a longer visit, the hotel should consider a dinner option.

PLEASANT SHORT STAY
Reviewed By Trave1BanditI arrived relatively late… and left the next morning relatively early… so I cannot give a full and in depth review… but I can say the following: I booked the hotel – double room for single use + Breakfast + Dinner Option included (as mentioned, I arrived late, so no need to go out and look for a meal). POSITIVE POINTS: - Hotel is modern, well-kept and spotless clean in all areas... inside and out - WELL DONE to the staff taking care of this. - Bar is run by very pleasant, professional and fast staff, serving a large variety of beverages. Both inside and outside areas are nice. Prices are reasonable. - Room is a good size, and has a modern, yet warm feeling and décor. Once again… spotless. - Bathroom in perfect condition, with good amenities for a 4 star hotel. - Soundproofing is impeccable in the rooms. - Wifi worked without glitches - Check-in / Check-out was a breeze and very friendly and professional. SO-SO POINTS: +/- As mentioned above, I opted for the dinner included service, due to lack of time. The system is “Bufet” with a variety of choices to cater to various tastes. However… being SO FULL, many times, there were certain foods missing momentarily… and the whole system sort of reminded me of a school canteen. Of course, being a buffet service catering to so many people… the quality of the food is relatively basic. +/- GYM is relatively well equipped, yet some of the machines are starting to be overtaken by time, and in urgent need of maintenance. If management is reading… take care of the cycling and elliptical machines… in desperate need of looking into. The elliptical machine is in the worst shape… 30 seconds after starting, I was “forced” to abandon it NEGATIVE POINTS: As mentioned, I spent a short period of time here, and would only mention the small parking space. When I arrived, it was full… so I had to park the car a little far away in the street. SUMMING UP: In the short time spent here, I liked it. YES… I would return. Just remember, it is not so centrally located…

Eetu is an Adults only Hotel (teens +14 are allowed) with an outstanding location, the Aiguablava bay, in Begur, surrounded by beaches and coves accessible on foot, and a magnificent open air heated pool with wellness area, Balinese beds and bar. All our spacious rooms feature king size 1,80 x 2,00 mattress (twin beds by request) and large terraces. We have a restaurant with terrace which serves traditional Costa Brava dishes: seafood rice, suquet, fish… always with quality ingredients (half board option). Our rates include buffet breakfast, which can be enjoyed in our terrace under the mulberry trees. The Hotel features a gorgeous covered garage closed at night, also complimentary with your reservation. The combination of the sea, the pool and our restaurant will make you enjoy a magnificent experience in our Hotel. Eetu, the Mediterranean at its best! PS: get the best deal booking directly with us, the Hotel!
Relaxing, gracious, comfortable
Reviewed By swopWe spent almost a week here, relaxing and recharging. Weeks before we arrived, the owner helped us arrange a couple of dinner reservations. Upon arrival, the woman at the desk carefully explained the amenities, the hiking trails, and what to visit. She made lunch reservations and was always incredibly gracious and helpful. The hotel is big enough to have great amenities - a beautiful pool, outside seating areas, outstanding breakfast, very good restaurant - but small enough (~20 rooms) to feel cozy and personal. It was, for us, perfect.

Reviewed By kendG295EBReasonable hotel in a great location, friendly staff, mature gardens, but the rooms, gym, everything is very dated and needs refurbishing, private beach was just an artificial beach next to the pool, not a private cove as expected, no room service was a surprise for a 4-star hotel, breakfast was fine, massage was excellent, expected more for the price.

The noise level was high in the restaurant but couldn't hear it outside or in the rooms, musical entertainment laid on from 21.00, can't comment on that as I walked on the promenade after dinner which was lovely

Reviewed By joop112after a working life with over fifty years in hotels all over europe at least once a week I do think that I can compare. I never had a hotel in a better location or a more friendlu and empathetic staff at the reception, in the restaurant, the cleaning lady's, the bar and the technicians. rooms are very nice and breakfast and dinner buffet is various and also very tasty. I will come back twice a year as long as possible. thank you very much.

Treated Like Guests in This Family Run Enterprise
Reviewed By Gail TChosen for its location we were not disappointed, once we had played the parking game in this picturesque fishing village turned tourist magnet. We arrived well ahead of schedule but our luggage was taken to our designated room with assurances that it would be ours within minutes and we saw one of the proprietors step in to speed the bedmaking. This simple, straightforward approach was reflected in the fresh white decoration and provision of good basic requirements for an overnight stay. Our room on the 1st floor had a balcony overlooking the port and daily bustle but was quiet enough to give us a good night's sleep in comfortable beds. The walk-in shower could be copied by many hotels that imagine they are superior. The sensible position of the wash basin, outside the toilet cabinet, was another practical solution to that often experienced morning ablutions delay. We have no hesitation in wishing this well led family a long and happy future while they offer such excellent accommodation by their hard work and attention to detail.
