Kavala Beach

A great place to stay

Reviewed By julian p

Simply put, the owners are a total delight, nothing is too much trouble, they genuinely seem like they are there to make your stay wonderful. Location is perfect 5 mins stroll to the beautiful beach with bars restaurants and harbour. 5 min walk to a larger supermarket with everything you need. Swimming pool is great for the kids too. Having a little kitchen really helps out too, a quick trip to the supermarket and we were sorted for the week. Breakfast and lunch at the apartment then out to one of the many nice restaurants in the evening. We had 2 adults and 2 kids in a 2 room apartment and it can feel quite cramped, but we had 2 balconies so could enjoy a fab view and sit out at night. The kitchen could have a few more utensils, like a sharp knife, but really it was a god send with a family to be able to make a light lunch! The curtains don’t quite cover the whole window so a lot of light gets in but really that wasn’t a huge problem. We had a lovely stay and will definitely try and get back again soon!

Unsympathetic Hotel

I can say that it is the worst business in Alexandroupoli. I made a reservation on Booking.com. I couldn't go because I was covid. They did not offer options such as cancellation of reservation or refund. I went to Alexandroupoli many times afterwards, but this hotel was never my choice. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Because when you have a problem, you cannot find anyone at the hotel to solve it.

The name” Beach Hotel” made us decide to come here but there is no beach that one can use! Instead there is a a swimming pool like the one we had in our backyard. Nevertheless,no water in the bathroom next day and when I asked the reason they said that “they are checking the quality of the water that is way no water” !!! While I was waiting for the water I wanted to watch TV but no broadcasting ( May be they were checking the quality of broadcasting) Same day , we were locked in the elevator! When we asked for a replacement room in another building their answer was no no no Than we had to say by by forever.

Second visit

Reviewed By TasosAnth

My first visit at this hotel was before 4 years. Unfortunately the second visit was not so impressive as the first. Although we had a room with view to the sea which is a must for this hotel the room was much smaller than the first time, with old towels and bedsheets. Some small spots on the room need definitely to be change or to renovate. Bathroom has still problem because after shower the water overflows all the area. Soundproof from the other rooms was almost zero and wifi was not so strong especially if you have to work. Curtains were also dirty as well as all the windows and the glasses of the balcony Another negative is that the roof top bar which was also the area of the breakfast was temporarily closed due to the covid situation but I suppose since the breakfast continue to be served on another area of the hotel most probably there might be another reason Hotel does not have parking spot and now that we came with a car it was completely difficult to find one in the whole area. On the positive side is the location of the hotel next to the sea, the center and the old city and the staff that it was very smiley, helpfull and always kind and polite. Special credits to the lady at the breakfast area. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices less than the previous time but still very good. Try the omellette Price is a little bit highy for the overall situation. We will come again but we hope some things to be better next time

I've just returned from 3 days trip to Kavala. We stayed in this hotel and we are very satisfied with service and everything. The hotel has great location. That's what i noticed as soon as we arrived. It takes you 5-15 min. to get to some nice and popular places, weather you want to get to the sea or maybe to sit in park in front of beautiful municialipty building (ex castle),or to visit beautiful church of Saint Nicola, many charming cafes and restaurants, or if you want to enjoy the view on Kavala from the old town. You have that feeling that everything is nearby. Rooms are ok, clean and you have as much space as you need. Beds are wide and comfortable. Rooms are cleaned everyday and you get new towels, shampoos and stuff daily. Breakfast is very delicious and various. You can pick between greek pastries, classic scrumbled eggs, fried bacon, salami, different salads, different tyoes of olives, greek cheese, sweets...The building has 2 lifts/elevators which worked well at the time we were there. Wifi is available and worked perfect. Young man and a girl at recepcion were very kind and helpfull. They borrowed us an iron and gave us neccessary information. We had a nice conversation as well. My mark 5/5.

Imaret Hotel

The Imaret is a world apart, a rare jewel, where East meets West in Northern Greece. A historical monument crowning the hillside overlooking the picturesque harbour of Kavala, the hotel combines the grandeur of Greek Roman and Byzantine Style with a scent of the orient, and the elegance of Hellenic hospitality. The building was the gift of Mehmet Ali, modernising ruler of Egypt in the 1800's, to Kavala, his birthplace.

Worst management

Reviewed By 467canane

Although this luxury hotel is worth a visit, very fascinating and well preserved, the management, if there is any , made us think about coming here again. We were greeted by a gentleman who led us to our suite and suggested we should take a guided tour for the hotel and make an advance booking. But there was no guide, nor the gentleman who checked us in the next morning. He also told us that the hammam reservations were fully booked, though we had no intentions at all to use it. Later it turned out that we were the only guests in the hotel. The suite was beautiful. Just as shown in the pictures on their website. The room reservation came with a 3 course dinner so we had great expectations. It was the most expensive dinner we had , not worth a penny, (except for the fish) too salty ,which was also admitted by the waiter, when he asked to take away our dishes untouched. Very dissapointing. The next morning after we found out that there is no guided tour, it took half an hour to check out by a gentleman who sat behind the desk , talking on the phone to someone to help him solve the mystery to enter a name in the system, unsuccessfully, we were annoyed and just wanted to leave. There were no bell boys present, The waitress had to take care of our luggages, a technician ( we only guessed) assisted her. If this hotel would be operated by professionals it would thrive. Soi if you are planning to go there, I'm sure you will love the Hotel, but take my advise and do not eat there.
