Reviewed By Janosik71Hotel is new and well maintained. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Breakfast very tasty. Location is bit out of the city so you need a car or take a taxi. Good point is water park nearby. Quality vs price was ok.

Reviewed By handy06A good price-performance ratio solution for a few days of rest. Small room with basic equipment. Cleanliness could be a bit better. Good wi-fi, free parking, no fridge, no safe, but there is AC. The breakfast is basic, you will survive with it. The fitness room is a joke. The room wasn't that noise even facing to the road. There is only one chair in the reception to sit...:D

Good ratio quality vs money
Reviewed By Dima LThis Hotel is situated few kilometers from main roads. If You have navigation, there won't be any problems to locate it. Little and nice rooms (for 1-2 person), free wi-fi, parking. Breakfast ok for this money. Very good stuf, and If you are the first time in this hotel, they will treat you beer, juice, cola or water (Such a little detail, but it's very nice) Generally, good hotel for this price. I can reccomend it.

Welcome to SHUMA Complex situated by the Pogoria I Lake in Dabrowa Gornicza in the vicinity of S1 carriageway (Warszawa Bielsko Biala) and crossover ( Katowice Krakow). Distance from the airport Pyrzowice is only 23 km, and the Balice airport 78 km. We would like to present unique Hotel, located in picturesque corner of nature. Surrounded by green area and four lakes, the place itself encourages guests to take a stroll along the shore of the lake in company with dignified swans, colorful ducks and to the accompaniment of relaxing swoosh of waves. The complex (over 1,2 ha) consists mainly of garden area divided by two car parks. The access to complimentary wireless Internet is available in Shuma as well. There is also a lift, which enables guests to move easily up and down along four storeys (from -1 to +2).

Reviewed By fidel_plVery clean hotel in quiet area. Helpful staff. Close to city centre (bus and tram stops 5 min. walk). Mc Donalds and petrol station nearby. Approx 3.5 km to Pogoria lake. Good food in restaurant. Breakfast not included. Cost 15 zl (3,5€).

Great venue
Reviewed By Palmer49Have just returned from a long weekend staying at the Palac Ostromecko attending a wedding. The hotel has spectacular grounds, the rooms are a good size. Unfortunately, as it is run by local Council, you do not get the usual things that you would expect. No kettles, hairdryers in the rooms, you can request a hairdryers from reception. There is no maid service, so beds are not made, bins not emptied, towels not changed. The hotel is very clean and the beds, although low are comfortable. The staff are friendly but their English is limited, breakfast was buffet but not a lot if choice, eggs and frankfurter sausages, two choices of cereal, plenty of bread, butter, jams etc. the food that they supplied for the wedding was fantastic, lots of choices, never had anything like it in the UK, it was served piping hot, the staff very efficient. The hotel is a long way from the main town so it was a taxi ride each time, but very cheap. The hotel restaurant and bar closes at 20.00 but there is a restaurant across the road that serves food until 21.00 and the bar stays open later. It is well worth a visit.

For its price a great and convenient place to stay
Reviewed By KHiggins75A fairly small guest house with a dozen or so rooms, we stayed in the hotel for about five days while visiting a family event and visiting family friends. It was arranged by my father with little to guide him but price as he isn't much into online reviews! Despite this a fairly good hotel, and when you consider the price, a very good one. The rooms are very good - spacious, clean, well decorated. The en-suites are a good size and again very clean and have good basic shower cubicles. The hotel offers B and B style accommodation with a continental-style breakfast augmented with a choice of hot eggs or sausages served by the friendly staff. The dining room becomes an adequate evening restaurant serving good value basic Polish fare (although Karczma pod lasem a few blocks East is a better restaurant - and worth going to unless its slightly more expensive menu puts you off). Where the hotel lets it self down are in three areas - one is sound insulation of the rooms. The doors are not particularly soundproof and with the corridors and staircases made of hard flooring rather than carpet it is easy to hear passing people. The rooms further away from other customers are unfortunately facing a fairly busy road. The second criticism are the curtains which are on rails well away from the window opening but are only just the same size as the windows - as a result there is a fair amount of light leakage around them - more of a problem in summer mornings I expect although notably windows do not face East or South. I wouldn't want to give the impression you won't get an adequate night's sleep - the area is quiet and the hotel isn't going to attract late night revelers or anything of that sort - but if you are a very light sleeper then it is something to be aware of. The last criticism is a lack of facilities - Of course the hotel lacks sophisticated stuff for big hotels like gyms, swimming pools, valet parking and the like, but even more simple things were lacking - no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, no local information, no menu for their own restaurant even! WiFi is free but not a strong connection. The staff are nice and the problems don't effect the hotel as a place to sleep, so its fine to get a coffee in the pleasant bar and do your trip advisor reviews from there but these are cheap things to sort out that would elevate this from a very good guest house to a great one. All in all recommended for a budget traveler - the important things - cleanliness, service, good bed, wifi, nice breakfast, are all there - but with a few extra upgrades this could be a really excellent little budget hotel.

Far from city for comfortable

Since Dabrowa was the closest town and all hotels were booked in Katowice, we booked here. It took us a long time to reach here but when we did, it was were comfortable. Our room had a small kitchenette so we could cook/heat meals. The sheets and towels were changed every alternate days and the bathroom was extremely clean. The owner was very friendly and explained everything to us - the bus and train routes and even talked to the uber driver in Polish to guide for directions. We could not try any food as we were busy with the events. Other than the distance, this was a lovely place to stay.

Reviewed By KiniuchHotel zlokalizowany jest w spokojnej dzielnicy, jednak z okien pokoju od strony ulicy słychać przejeżdżające po drodze pojazdy. Pokój był czysty i dobrze przygotowany, ogrzewanie sprawne, jednak trochę ciągnęło zimnem od okna. Trafiła się nam również bardzo mała łazienka i ruchy w niej były zdecydowanie bardzo ograniczone. Obsługa uprzejma i pomocna.

Reviewed By Krzysztof SPokój bardzo ładny, łóżka wygodne. Łazienka jest również ładna i czysta. Niestety brak klimatyzacji, co na poddaszu daje się we znaki. Dodatkowo bardzo dobre jedzenie w restauracji po bardzo niskich cenach: śniadanie 15zl (co prawda codziennie jajecznica z dodatkami, ale dobra), obiadowy zestaw dnia za 15, każde danie poniżej 20 zł. Nie jest to Sheraton, ale polecam
