Renvyle House Hotel

Renvyle House is a four star, historic country house, family owned and family run. It first opened as a hotel in 1883 and is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way (midway point of the longest car touring route in the world). Renvyle House is known for it’s “air of otherwordliness” which we believe is a strong and unique selling point and something of which we are very proud. Our emphasis is on customer service “friendly combined with professional” and we believe this plays a large part in why Renvyle enjoys over 55% repeat business. The hotel resort grounds include a private lake, a beach, woodlands, gardens and numerous activities on site including tennis, croquet, outdoor heated swimming pool & Canadia Hot Tub, fly-fishing, canoeing and more. Renvyle House is also well known for it’s good food (Tim O'Sullivan is our award winning Executive Chef). Renvyle House always has a warm welcome guaranteed for every guest.

One place to return to

We had a lovely stay and what really stood out were the staff. Caitlin at the front desk and Andy (who was everywhere) were so helpful and always chatty and patient with my incessant questions. Everyone else could not have been kinder and this hotel has an eclectic mix of staff ranging from Spain all the way to Argentina. The food was excellent, sumptuous and the wine choice excellent as well. While we were there we visited Kylemore Abbey ( a must), numerous white beaches as well as long walks by the sea. My kids loved the heated pool and the jacuzzi! This is a place you will never forget and want to come back to again.

Have stayed many places around Clifden, really like the Station House. It's affordable and great service, with a cracking breakfast. Rooms are always clean and spacious, and the service of each department is spot on. When we left at 5am on our last trip, the night porter ensured we had a lovely take away coffee for our journey to Knock. It's just a great hotel in a great location.

The Ardagh Hotel & Restaurant

Celebrating 40 years of welcoming guests as friends, the Ardagh is now in the third generation of the Bauvet/Berings family. Old fashioned rest, relaxation & the best food Connemara has to offer. One of the last small, family run hotels in Ireland. What was originally a quaint fishing lodge is now the 20 bedrooms of a four star establishment. The Ardagh has been lovingly restored into an unfussy, intimate hotel with individually styled guest rooms. Set on 6 acres of food and wild floral gardens offering both views of Connemara’s land and seascapes.

Sublime stay. A place to return to again and again

Absolutely superb from the moment we arrived until we left. This was our second stay, having had a wonderful time previously, it is a place that we were very excited to return to. The hotel is beautifully located with very comfortable rooms overlooking Clifden Bay and its magnificent sunsets. Every member of the team are so welcoming and friendly but very professional. The service was fantastic. Dining in the Ardagh is an absolute treat. There is an extensive menu of wonderful local seafood, meats and homegrown vegetables. This is high end dining at its best. Perfectly cooked and presented. The only difference between Ardagh and other fine dining establishments is that the portions are huge! We ate there for 4 nights and our only regret was not tasting everything on the menu. A well chosen and reasonably priced wine list accompanies the amazing food. Cannot wait to return next year. A true treat worth waiting for. Thank you all in the Ardagh

Delightful family run B&B. You felt like staying in someone's home, very comfortable, with the little things like LOTS of places to recharge all our phones etc. As good a breakfast as I have had. Quiet!! The lodge is an easy 10 minute walk from town and restaurants etc. Our bus driver from Galway dropped us off at the lodge. It is up hill if coming from town with luggage, so check with owners if you need a pickup in town. LOVED this place.
