Very good

It's down a side street so you have to keep your eyes peeled but there was plenty of parking so I was soon pulled up outside. The receptionist was very polite and friendly, and my room was very clean and comfortable, with a a nice bathroom and decent shower. The chance to have a cuppa on the balcony was good too. Slept like a log, was nice and quiet, my only moan was that breakfast was microwaved scrambled eggs, a real pet hate of mine, but I'd stay here again in an instant.

Above and beyond

Hi there, Just a quick note to say a huge thank you to all the team at Haven Thorpe Park, we visited you Fri 27th May for the long weekend with some special need children. We have stayed with you a few times before and always feel so welcome and looked after. If you have any staff incentives I would love to nominate Rylee Massey, he could not do enough for us and allowed us a day pass for swimming as its always touch and go whether the children will go in the pool or not and the club is too noisy for our ASD kids so we never buy the stay and play option. I feel he went above and beyond to assist with our special needs, also the people in the pool, absolutely outstanding service Alex, Tiana and the team couldn’t do enough for us. I even got out of the lazy river to get one of the girls a jacket as she was stood shivering with a broken umbrella in a terrible thunder storm but always smiling and cheerful not complaining, this attitude just speaks volumes, I would like a contact e mail or number for head office as I would like to propose while they are spending money on Haven facilities I feel it would be nice to maybe pop a couple of Perspex shelters outside for the staff I really felt sorry for them, and maybe a paying customer asking may assist lol.

the room was like going back to the 1970s dont stay here...Especially room 8.

Reviewed By Norman T

the room looked like it had last been updated in the 1970s. woodchip wallpaper and real poor quality wardrobe, as for the bathroom well let me just say the plumbing hadn't been updated since original install by the looks of things. Grubby with broken wooden panel under sink. Door handle hanging off. There is cheap accommodation and bad accommodation, this is definitely BAD!. the restaurant and bar was the complete opposite, money has obviously been spent on this ,rather than the updating the rooms. Greene King Inns you need to spend money on this Hotel, updating it as its a disgrace This was the worst place i have ever been too. So bad i booked into the premier inn just down the road. For about £10 more i booked into a premier inn for the night because i wasn't prepared for me and my wife to stay here.

Nice place

Reviewed By Peter b

We spent two nights here. The location for the sea is perfect, a short walk away. We were met by the elderly owner and handed our key with the request to choose breakfast for the following day. The B&B was very clean as was the room (4) . Breakfast wasn't as I had expected. There were no yoghurts though the owner did offer to buy some, we said not to bother. She did in fact present us with yoghurts on the second morning. The choice of cereal is limited and the dispensers are awkward. I had the full breakfast without beans which came with a choice of white/brown toast. My wife opted for the croissants which were okay and was offered bacon as there was no fruit. Be specific in what you ask for. We asked for croissants and got one. On the second morning, I asked for two without a problem which was presented with bacon. The sausage was tasteless but the bacon was thick and tasty. The only big negative is the parking - outside the house 1hr with no return in two between 8am and 6pm. There is a car park 50 yards away which is free between 6pm and 8am. For a day parking, it's currently £5.50 not bad for other local car parks. The owner did say the traffic wardens rarely check the street but do you want to pay a hefty fine? Definitely recommend it and will no doubt return when we visit my wife's friend again.
