Reviewed By lakegirl48We chose to stay in this hotel as it is has parking and is not far from the Certosa which we wished to visit. Our room 111 was large, in fact had been set up for four people. So it was large, clean and had a very nice bathroom. We slept well in the comfortable bed in quiet building (the room was at the rear of the building - the local church clock does not ring all night!). Breakfast was OK. We would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay to visit the Certosa and would return if in the area.

Reviewed By DunRingillIl Pettirosso is well placed for a visit to the Monastery of Certosa di Pavia, and to the city of Pavia itself. It is also convenient for Milan's airports. We stayed in the chalet, which, like the rest of the property is decorated in delightfully quirky style. It was hot during our stay, but the air conditioning in the chalet worked fine. Elisa was very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.

Reviewed By AliJellyI have booked at this hotel some rooms for guests visiting my hometown (Pavia). I haven't slept at the the hotel but I have visited numerous times. Everybody seemed very happy with the accommodation. The setting is lovely and very close to Milan. There are some goats that you can fee with the grass nearby, I had lots of fun with my 5 years old niece. Mr Vincenzo (the owner) has been very helpful. I will cretainly recommend this place to whoever needs tranquility. The position is also very good to visit the beautiful Certosa, Pavia and Milan.

Reviewed By cathyjEtangLaVilleExtremely comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Copious breakfast and a delightful hostess full of good advice of places to visit, where to eat, etc. The bed and breakfast is just an 800 metre walk up a tree lined avenue to the beautiful Certosa.

It is located about 10 minutes walking time to the monastery. Parking is easy in the courtyard, it is quiet at night. The hotel is a simple structure somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Very clean and the owners are very welcoming and friendly, especially daughter Veronica who speaks several languages well. The room provides a good bed and good sleep. We left the suitcases in the car and unpacked only what we needed for the night from a rollcase. Laundry and the room in general was very clean. The bathroom is functional and also very clean. We would have appreciated a chair because otherwise when you are in the room the bed is the only way to relax. In the evening we had a la carte dinner- it was very good. Especially pizza was very tasty. The price is very convenient. There were many local families having dinner- the ambience was nice. In the evening we had dinner in the dining room and the a la carte choice was ample and the food very good, especially pizza. There were local families in the restaurant, but also foreign tourists on their way to other destinations in Italy. All prices are very favourable and the price performance ratio excellent.

Hostile and incompetent receptionist, seedy rooms
Reviewed By aag_10These people do not have the faintest clue of what "kindness", "hospitality" and "customer service" means. First they couldn't find my (prepaid!) reservation, and they tried to fault me for that, in a highly hostile and antagonistic manner. She relented only when I pulled up the voucher from my computer. The room was sticky, the air conditioning worked intermittently, and the cleanliness left to be desired (there was even some napkin or toilet paper under the bed, left over by some previous customer, quite disgusting!). If you run a hotel but hate your guests, maybe you should consider a career change.

Ho mangiato parecchie volte al ristorante e non sono mai rimasto deluso, tanto da avere scelto la dimora come location per il mio matrimonio. Nelle stanze della dimora si respira il profumo della storia di queste zone a vocazione agricola,un'atmosfera unica. Personale simpatico, cordiale e competente. Sicuramente un posto che merita una visita.
