We had a very quick stopover at the Mercure Bunbury and found it comfortable. Arrived late and left early. Was very impressed with the restaurant meals on offer and the service. I think one would enjoy the surroundings more in summer as there would be more to enjoy. Would only stay for an overnight.

Good value and accommodation, excellent staff

Reviewed By michaelmR4067TY

My wife and I had occasion to stay one Saturday night. Unfortunately, due to previous guests damaging our room, the king suite we booked was not available. We were offered a no-cost upgrade to a room in the heritage-style Grittleton Lodge which we accepted but, after moving in, it emerged that the air-conditioning was malfunctioning. We were moved to a spa room at the motel. Things may always unavoidably go wrong, but it is how the staff and management deal with the situation that counts. The people at Clifton & Grittleton could not have been more helpful, friendly, and keen to assist. Thanks in particular to Pat and Deb and the owner, who helped make good a potential nightmare. The rooms at the motel are a little dated, but neat, clean, well-appointed, and well maintained. The place is conveniently located a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town and restaurant strip. Accommodation is reasonably priced, and we have no reservations about staying there again or recommending it to friends while it is under the current management, and I am sure we shall do so.

Extremely disappointed

Yes had to pay $200 bond dont know why it would be hard to tell if you did something the room was disgusting .stayed there 8 years ago same room nothing has changed you sit on a filthy pull out sofa bed that is so uncomfortable my dogs sit on better. The other chair also stained and filthy. The kitchen chairs also stained chipped uncomfortable.so that leaves the hard plastic ones on the balcony. The carpet is stained. Tge wardrobe well you open the door and your jit wih a horrible stench couldnt use it. The bed you roll.over or move and your partner gets bounced all over the place. The bathroom no space to put anything , hard towels, the spa looks that old and the jets grubby wouldnt even get in it. The shower the head points to the wall for a reason the cold water dribbles out the hot on the other hand scolds you to death for lack of cold water. The food dinner was nice first night second well it went downhill pretty quickly. I understand why people go to bali as the motels here need to lift there game refurbish there overly expensive out of date rooms. You cant blame covid for travellers not staying local the amenities are disgraceful when you travel you want a nice clean comfortable place to stay this is certainly not it . Avoid room 22 ar all costs.

On the water

Reviewed By JeffS758

I stayed here for the night. Check in was perfect and the room was super clean and tidy, although I could’ve used a small desk and chair to do some work. The bed was very comfy and the view from the balcony was really nice as it overlooked the water. Parking was over the road in an open air car park which was a bit of a worry as I had a lot of gear in the car, but it was all still there the next morning. There seemed to be a lot of tradies staying there and as predicted, the ones next to me woke up at 4.30 to go to work and didn’t hold back on the noise. Then about 7.15 a noisy petrol blower vac was in full swing under my window, so no room to recover after entertaining clients till late the night before. Anyway, that’s people not the venues fault I suppose. The place itself is lovely and well priced. Food is great send the bar staff were fantastic too.

Room was ok but the car park was terrible

Reviewed By L2615CJjamesr

Despite parking being included in the booking, good luck if you can get one. We had to drive through the car park several times and wait for one to become vacant. When we did finally find one, we had to step over broken glass beer bottles. By morning the large chunks had been removed but there were still lots of smaller ones that hadn't been cleaned up. While getting our 2 year old son into the car, someone was smoking in a no smoking area right next to our car. Despite staff being in the area, no one addressed the smoking.
