Reviewed By 55ChrispyA charming old mill on the banks of the Dronne with a functioning mill wheel, a perfect setting just a short drive from the much busier Brantome. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished and had been done so in a very tasteful and classy way. The mill is very relaxed and peaceful and is set in its own ground with a little bridge over the river to access the swimming pool and several seating areas. The staff were efficient and professional, yet friendly at the same time. And what better way to finish your day than outside on the terrace enjoying Michelin starred cuisine.

Usually, when in a big tour and with the difficulty of understanding language, it is rare to feel the friendliness and the hospitality of the hotel stuff members. But the owner and the staff were really nice. In addition to the comfortable rooms, the convenient location and the delicious meals in the hotel restaurant(breakfasts and a dinner), we were impressed by the hospitality of the owner. Reviewed By 977darylhAs other reviewers have pointed out the hotel (which has 10 bedrooms) is a family run affaire. It’s the latter that makes it special as nothing was too much trouble. The customer service was exceptional, whether that was dining, asking for local information, or even simple requests like having some ironing done. It was the small touches that made it great and everything was instant. In addition the food was a gastronomic delight. We ate dinner in the restaurant 3 evenings and it was always the same, wonderful food with great table service. We are fortunate in being well travelled and have stayed in some of the best hotels but this place competes because of how much the family love what they are doing and it shows. We stayed 6 nights and we found lots of lovely walks, beautiful villages and interesting places to visit. It’s a 20 minute pleasant walk into Brantome.

Reviewed By 850MichaelWe stayed for one night here as a belated Ruby wedding gift. On arrival we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome by all of the staff. For some reason we were up-graded to the Honeymoon Suite with terrace and jacuzzi..wow! The room was pleasant and comfortable with extras of robes, slippers and chocolates. After enjoying champagne in the jacuzzi, we dressed for dinner and went down to a ‘Chef’s choice’ menu. He prepared a meal of foie gras, John Dory and then a fruit dessert topped with chocolate disc, on which was written, Happy Anniversary. The restaurant service was first class both for our dinner and the following morning for breakfast. I cannot fault the service or quality but must highlight that the staff were genuinely interested in ensuring that we enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to them all.

Reviewed By tina kWe stayed at this wonderful hotel to cut our travel to the south of france in half. It was the best decison! The location is dreamy and so quiet, the food and drinks at the restaurant are just wonderful and the staff lovely and helpful. You can't start your vacation in a more "tranquillle" way. Special mention for the breakfast: local meats and cheese and homebread breads, brioches and pain perdus. It was absolutely delicious!

You should try the dinner they prepare, especially your first night if you come late, as there is no restaurant nearby it's very practical but most of all it's made with natural products and with love. I still have the taste of the bread we ate during the breakfast which was very wide. The suit we stayed was very comfortable, especially the bed. All the details were thought for respecting the rest of the visitors. Our hosts gave also very good tips for visiting the region. Last but not least, Vincent speaks fluent Spanish, and pets are welcome. All was excellent, thank you very much!

Lovely first visit to France
Reviewed By Lesley GMe and my husband stayed for four nights at the Bluebell guest house. It was a beautiful french house and everything we imagined it could be. It was clean and very well presented and our hosts Ann and Micheal were wonderful. Breakfast was provided with a good choice and my husband was very pleased with his bacon and egg . Our hosts gave us recommendations of places to visit which we were grateful for and felt they were very helpful in making our stay in Brantome a very pleasant one. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay in the dordogne area.

Wonderful combination of the power of Arabian horses and the Perigord Vert rural world
Reviewed By _mardelaiguanaI never thought that being near horses and, specifically of pure Arab race, will be so comforting for my spirit and wellbeing and at the same time an extraordinary way to know the rural French charm of Perigord Vert. The welcome "gouter gratouille" although magnificent was just a sweet welcome of the experiences that awaited me during my stay in the rural farm converted into a charming and exquisite countryside accommodation.
