Reviewed By sofmen7When I arrived the room that I was assigned was number 01, the one near the lobby and by the side of the TV. I've rejected the room because of the noise, so I was accomodated in a room in the underground floor. I only slept there one night. These rooms are under the restaurant, so you can hear all the time how the tables and chairs are moved. The following day I was moved to a further room, also in the underground, that was not below the restaurant. These rooms lead to the sea, and you can see fishermen in front of your window, looking for fish that stick to the walls of the hotel. They pass even in the night so I was forced to have the curtains all the time closed. This had an impact in the internet signal. I've found two times in the morning a dead cockroach in the floor. Doors don't isolate noises, so when the cleaners come in the morning you can hear them perfectly well, also when they are called by the stricking phone that is in the corridor. In the underground, be prepared to lift the heavy bags through the stairs. The passage that lead to the rooms can be full of water when it rains. This entrance leads also to the swimming pool area, that is open to public and security is not so strict on seeing which people is entering and coming out. If you want to take a breakfast, you can have the complete option for 5,500 (9 euros), or a continental breakfast for 4,500 (7 euros), or only a coffe with milk for 4 euros!!

Cost is of a four or five star hotel, reality is you get a 3 star hotel at best. Disappointing to say the least.

Good service overall in spite of language barrier.Air conditioning in room barely got the room cool, no matter what level you turned on fan level. At least once or twice a week, no towels left to shower, and being in Central Africa, with the heat, you would think they would provide ample towels. No, and the quality of them is horrid, and they don’t launder them with enough detergent, so you can smell the stench of the last use though they were laundered. Yet this place has doubled in price since it opened? A soda costs four times what it does at a store. The quality of food is good overall, though their menu lacks variety. They do have a “buffet” almost nightly, but usually costing about $30 which is obscene. Again, simply put, they would like to tout themselves as a four or five star hotel, and make you pay as such, but give you merely 3 star at best rooms, amenities, and ambiance.

The accommodations are excellent and the staff goes above and beyond to please. French and English are spoken here. Lovely art pieces make the public rooms lively and interesting. Staff arranged for an English speaking driver to take us to Ouidah and Ganvie for tours with a guide. If you need an English speaking driver ask for Korssi—he also walked with me through the Dantokpa Market and the Artisanal Center. A breakfast buffet is included with eggs cooked to order. Each evening there is a 3 course special dinner but you can also order lighter fare off the menu. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Celine, and staff for making our time in Cotonou so memorable!

Reviewed By mvdnCotonou can be a bit of a noisy, dusty, polluted place. The Cocotiers is an excellent option if you need a place to spend a couple of nights in Cotonou. It is located in the most luxurious part of town, which is near the airport (don't worry: with max 3 flights a day you won't be bothered by noice). Upmarket restaurants in walking distance. Rooms basic and clean, nice sitting area, wifi works. Only drawback is that they don't have a bar.... Breakfast is good.

He was so nice and I made a really good friends with him. Very special hotel and the staff is awesome. Would not hesitate to book here again. FYI food here is much better than that of the more expensive Golden Tulip.

The heater was working well. The Wi-Fi was optimal and the food was OK. They were also proactive in reaching out to me, while I was on the road.

Nice hotel but internet should be improved

I had to always get out of my room to the lobby if I wanted to get any work done. Right in front of my door in the corridor, the internet worked but the moment I stepped in the room it got messy.

Reviewed By PiedraripThis place about 10 km from Cotonou was a real paradise. Environment is fantastic, very nice garden with fountain gives you feeling you are visiting your friend's house. Very romantic. Room are also very nice and cozy with fan and mosquito net. WiFi Internet is available for reasonable fee. We loved to have breakfast on rooftop terrace. There's wonderful view towards the Route De Pêches. We also ordered a lunch, but it took them too long to prepare and it was average. You can get better deal in any local restaurant. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, one of the best of our stay in Benin.
