Easy going hostel in a beautiful location!

Reviewed By TomasGwynbleidd

We stayed for 3 nights with our dog in the camping area of this hostel, using the facilities to self-cater and co-work during the day, exploring in the evenings. The staff were friendly, the area is very beautiful with a great view over Windermere lake and the WiFi is good enough for remote working (though it dropped a few times over the day). Would happily stay again!

Beautiful location close to lots of other beauty spots

Reviewed By AnneGrovestock

Lots of great walks and beauty spots within a 20 minute drive but also some nice walks straight out of the door of the hostel. Self-catering kitchen was good, clean and bright. Staff were very helpful and smiley. Lots of parking on site. Although the hostel description said Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces I was able to get the WiFi in the dorm I stayed in. This is the first hostel I have stayed in that I want to stay at again.

Good Stay

Reviewed By Kenan_Thaxter8823

Stayed for a night, staff was very lovely, however we had to pay £4 for two towels and they had no shower gel which I didn’t bring as I was told that the hotel would supply that. It was also very noisy all throughout the night. Other than that it was good.

First class all round

Reviewed By JuanSheet110

We stayed here for a night during our Hadrian's wall walk, the hotel is a short walk off the trail (10mins) but more than worth the extra walk. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was well equipped and spacious including tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was one the the best meals we had eaten in some time. The breakfast choice was good and the portions were large just what was required. Thanks to everyone there for a great stay.

Great stay in Dufton

YHA was great, room lovely comfy beds, peaceful. Self catering facilities clean tidy organised. We took advantage of evening meal being prepared for us by the chef. It was great for the price and if you have just arrived as Dufton only has a pub, small cafe which has sporadic openings. Only 20 mins from Penrith to stock up with healthy supplies.

Clean, comfortable but no hot water

Reviewed By jcetiner

Spotlessly clean, however no hot water! Reception staff were lovely but even after the boiler was reset, it was still cold. I only stayed one night so it wasn’t the end of the world. I’d stay again as it was very comfortable, close to the Docks & clean. I’d keep my fingers crossed that the boiler worked next time!
