Near the town, olive groves extend as far as the eye can see, and surround the most beautiful Italian coastlines, from the white sandy beaches and turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, to the cliffs and grottos of the Adriatic coastline. Once in a Lifetime Experience

Staying at the castle was BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE I've ever had at any hotel or Airbnb. We stayed 5 days and this was the best trip we've ever had. While expensive, we can't wait to come back next year. The renovation of this castle is incredible. The rooms are big and tastefully designed. There is a pool, hot tub, basketball court, tennis court and gym for Castello guests at their nearby property a short walk away. Every corner of the castle is shockingly beautiful and full of history. The staff is attentive and adds to the experience - especially the restaurant chef and staff. Il Tempo Nuovo, the restaurant on property, is set in the courtyard and has some of the best food we've ever had. We were surprised they didn't have a Michelin star. I can't express how amazing this property is, you just have to go see for yourself - it's absolutely worth the trip.

Il Lusso del Silenzio

Lovely Lusso

Reviewed By rr1042

Visiting the dry landscape of Puglia in high summer, one is first struck by the heat, the grey green of the olive groves, the red of the soil and deep blue sky. However, once entering the grounds of Il Lusso, it is as though one has entered a lush oasis of green. The manicured lawns, lemon groves, flowers, shrubs and thoughtfully placed seating areas are cool to the eye and provide a welcome break from the heat at the end of a day spent exploring. My room under the main part of the house was light, white and dreamy with large rozonne on the walls as decoration. The large canopied bed was a lovely place to sleep, the bathroom is luxurious and Stefania, the host is kind and gracious. Breakfast was served outside under the trees, and featured a range of local specialities, all delicious. What more could one ask? I greatly enjoyed my first trip to Puglia, and feel Il Lusso is the perfect place to use as a base to explore this fascinating region. I can’t wait to return.

Simply Wonderful

My partner and I stayed a week in the ground floor apartment - with the fabulous vaulted ceiling and lovely antique furniture in the bedroom. Although there is some street noise, more noticeable at night, we were very comfortable in the apartment which has good air conditioning and WiFi. The kitchen is simple and good for preparing easy holiday meals. The bathroom is modern and very clean - as was the entire apartment. The location is fantastic - right near the old town and 5-8 minute walk to the beach (oh that turquoise water) and Lungomare. There are supermarkets within walking distance as well as a bakery and pasticceria. What also makes this accommodation so special are the hosts, Nini and Virginia - so friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We really appreciated their generous hospitality. I would absolutely recommend Residence Castello Otranto.
