Great hotel in laid-back Scalea!
Reviewed By Cynthia GScalea was such a welcome change of pace from Sicily and Napoli! Perhaps it’s not always so slow-paced, but it was very nice to be able to find free parking and not get run over by cars and scooters everywhere! Very enjoyable to just stroll. San Matteo Palace Hotel was striking for how immaculate it is when you first walk in. The clerk at the desk was very friendly and helpful and explained everything to us. The room barely had enough space to get around the bed to the terrace. It would not be suitable if you had an interest in spending time in the room. I don’t think you could even pull the desk chair out. The breakfast included in the room price was good and plentiful.

Reviewed By pony2323Friendly lady (staff) picked us up from the station, showed us round the B+B and served us breakfast. Her English is much better than my Italian, but don't expect complex questions to be understood. Between Tropea and Amalfi/Naples you ideally need simple Italian phrases and experience, like "the bill please" and "to eat in/take away". It's a lovely, modern building with nice decor. It's quiet (not much traffic on the road). The view from the breakfast terrace is over the town to the sea and the mountains. The walk to the centre is about 10-15 mins and the traffic isn't too hectic like in other towns. The old town is amazing, it has never been done up for the tourists and there's no traffic and there's a restaurant/bar at the top. Do take the 15 min train trip to Praia a Mare, an idyllic, stunning place, one of the nicest beaches I've ever visited; the beach is 10 mins walk from the station but the main bit by Dino Island is about 80 mins scenic walk along the promenade. In Sept this was the only bit serving food and doing boat trips. Of 9 B+Bs which I've visited in Itlay, this easily had the hardest bed. Maybe I should say firmest. I prefer a soft, supportive bed; but I did manage to sleep ok as it's a good quality mattress.

Maria and Staff incredible!
Reviewed By Sonny DMy girlfriend and i visited this B&B back in late July, and we were amazed by the fantastic service and place it was. Maria and the Staff were incredible, rooms are big and clean and breakfast buffet very good. They speak no English, so it was a true italian experience. We will definitely come back some day and everyone should make this place their first choice when visiting Scalea. Simply fantastic!

Our rooms are equipped with every comfort from the large garden with barbecue area and solarium on the top floor which has a wonderful panoramic view . We have the availability of four double bedrooms tastefully furnished, with TV , three of which have a balcony . Services every two rooms , one with chromotherapy shower and three outdoor showers .

Reviewed By Dream45534217451Quando si arriva a El Bisagrá si ha l'impressione di trovare un'oasi in mezzo al deserto, tra verde, palme e banano, l'accoglienza è tale da sembrare di rientrare a casa dopo un viaggio, le camere accoglienti e pulite a livello maniacale, la prima colazione abbondante ma mai pasticciata. C'è il parcheggio per le auto, volendo la convenzione con la spiaggia che si trova a circa 100 metri, una bella pista lungomare per noi runner e tutti i servizi sono a portata di mano, dal supermercato al parrucchiere. Se capitate a Scalea vi consiglio di fermarvi da loro.

Good clean accomodation
Reviewed By mosaicLocation is very good, at foot of old town, beach is 5 minute walk. Room is clean, modern and comfortable. There is a parking lot across the street, with a few free spots. Nice seafood restaurant next door. Reception is not present most of the time, never at night. Make sure to call few hours prior to arrival with exact time, or door will be locked. Overall, good 2-day stay.

The B & B La Suite del Faro is located on the promontory of Scalea overlooking the Gulf of Policastro, with a breathtaking view of the sea, is halfway between the Centre of Scalea and the enchanting Bay of San Nicola Arcella. Is a beautiful villa, recently built, with lush green garden. During the summer season a nice swimming pool with Roman stairs and adjoining Jacuzzi is at guests ' disposal. Here you can bask in the Sun all day on a comfortable sun lounger or a sun lounger by the pool or on the lawn, or enjoy a refreshing dip at the end of a day spent in one of the many beautiful beaches of the coast. The hotel has a breakfast room and a cliche, and in summer you can enjoy your breakfast by the pool, admiring the coast from the island of Cirella to Punta Infreschi, so you have the feeling of being on a cruise ship. Your stay will be one of four elegant rooms, finely furnished, air conditioned, hairdryer, satellite TV, direct access to the garden of the villa and the swimming pool. Each room is equipped with private bathroom, cured in details, and three have shapeless marble decorations that build the shower tray offering the feeling of making a special shower.

Reviewed By Sanny1748Cannot recommend Vittorio and La Suite Del Faro enough, the view overlooking the ocean is spectacular. This was our 3rd stay though for only one night, previous stays have been longer. The rooms are modern, comfortable and so clean. Breakfast next to the pool was lovely with freshly made pastries, juice, coffee, option of eggs and bacon always offered. Vittorio is so professional and accommodating, going out of his way to recommend and book restaurants! We will never stay anywhere else on our visits to Scalea
