Like most houses of its vintage, the rooms are large having high ceilings and sash windows welcoming the light to stream in. All rooms have DSTV, a fridge-freezer for cold drinks on summer days, and everything you need to make tea or coffee. The bathrooms-en-suite have showers. The Sanctuary is a luxury 5 room boutique hotel nestled on the foothills of the majestic Swartberg mountain range on the southern edge of the Great Karoo. A moderate two hour drive from the coastal city of George, the town of Prince Albert has an arid climate and the landscape stark but breathtaking in a unique Karoo way. We are located in the main street within walking distance of shops, restaurants, art galleries and a museum. We offer secure off street parking and a large (10m x 6m) sparkling seawater pool. Activities of the town to sample include hiking and rock climbing in the Swartberg mountains, cycling, yoga classes, cooking classes, and horse riding. Be aware though, that the weather on the mountain can be unpredictable so bring something warm with, even in summer.

Our historic property is located in the centre of Prince Albert. The guest rooms, suites and cottages are all furnished with antique & vintage furniture.
