Reviewed By TallblondeontourI have just returned from three amazing weeks in Cuba with friends and last week we stayed in the lovely Casa Zuleyda hosted by Abby and Ana who alternate as house managers. Both Abby and Ana could not have been more welcoming and kind to us and this is a perfect spot to unwind and meet new friends on a stunning beach. The pace is slow and just what we needed whilst England is in lockdown. We had superb diving nearby too which was a treat - stunning corals and fish right next to the shore and a wall dropping off to the deep only about 30m from the beach. The Casa Zuleyda serves food (and drinks!) all day not just for breakfasts and Danny who is the waiter was absolutely charming and helpful to us. We did not move far at all and we very much hope to return next year.

Hostal Nueva Vida is a modern style house located very close to the beach in PLaya Larga. One of the most beautiful places in the south of Cuba. Travelers can enjoy access to a top roof terrace with a lovely sea view or access to the beach with a short walk down the street. The owners of the house offer delicious meals at any time, laundry service, dance lessons, WIFI and all the information necessary about what to do and the different places to visit in the Zapata Peninsula.
A friendly casa particular
Reviewed By bbojcRaul spoke fluent English and he was probably one of the friendliest persons we met in Cuba, ready to help at anytime. The stay was fine, the room was clean, as well as the sheets. The landlady prepared just delicious dinner and breakfasts. The terrace was a nice place in the evening to have a beer or two under the Cuban night stary sky.

The house is located in the "Cienaga de Zapata National Park," one of the largest protected areas in the island of Cuba, where you can see many varieties of native birds, including the iconic pink flamingo, and crocodiles. Possibility of excursions with licensed guides. SCUBA DIVING! Every day a shuttle goes to the international center for scuba diving; you can swim, snorkel and see one of the best seabed of Cuba, with the reef close to the coast. PARTIES Possibility to organize various celebrations, birthday, anniversary, with musical accompaniment... All you have to do is ask, and we will do everything possible to satisfy your needs!
Close to the beach but minimal other benefits
Reviewed By EmmasgotatemperThe Casa is really close to the Caleton beach which is great. Note that this Casa is not at the Playa Larga beach but in a town next to it named Caleton. The beach is also Playa Caleton. This is a really nice beach by the way with a cool bar and restaurant right on the sand. Shops are far away in the Playa Larga Town! Be prepared to walk. During our stay the breakfast was standard price but we got less than in other casas (no eggs, less fruit etc). WiFi is available but you need to ask the host to connect it every now and again. The triple room is very small and the windows don't close\lock. The room had a lot of ants which the host sprayed however some of us got bitten (either ants or fleas?) - we we're explained the ants were due to humidity. Bathroom is ok with good fluffy towels but sink pressure is extremely low and unusable! On the plus, it has a nice hairdryer with decent fan speed. The host connected us with a guide to visit the Ciénga de Zapata park which was good however we had an unpleasant incident. We forgot some items at the accommodation when we left town and had difficulty contacting the host again and asking to get the items delivered (with payment of course) to our current location. We had 2 next Casa hosts contact this accommodation and after multiple attempts and persistence we got them delivered. Not sure if this was just a missunderstanding but our next Casa hosts agreed it was not ok.

Reviewed By JStewart123Myself and a group of pals arrived from Scotland after a few days in Havana, for a week with Frank and his team. The difference in service from the staff compared to Havana was very marked - particularly Pedro who has extremely good English and even more important a very dab hand at cocktails, which were gratefully received after a hot days fishing. Meals were great down to earth food and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Well located for a stroll to the local outdoor bar or beach. The staff could not make you feel more welcome - nothing was a problem. Thanks for your hospitality.

Our house is in the historic center of the Cienaga de Zapata, in a natural and friendly environment where you will feel comfortable in a vacation worthy of you. Cienaga de Zapata is the largest wetland in the entire Caribbean Sea. You can observe endemic birds doing some snorkelling and diving in the beach area with the largest variety of fish and corals.

The family that owns and runs the property were very accommodating and made us feel at home. You will not go wrong here.

The same have Splitt, Fan, Minibar, Safe, Hair Dryer and Hanger each, with an upper terrace overlooking the Rio Mar. Located just three minutes from the beach in a very quiet and safe neighborhood for the enjoyment of the guest. Reviewed By wendy dWe loved staying here. Lovely helpful hosts. Despite our lack of Spanish we got by! Room was spotlessly clean with two beds. Great air con and a fan. We sat on the roof terrace and at table outside our room. Also a drinks fridge in room stocked with beer, water and fizzy drinks. This was very handy. Breakfast was amazing for 5cuc. So much food and really nice. Our host arranged a friend to act as a taxi and take us to some snorkelling spots as there was a fuel shortage when we were there so not many taxis. Lovely beach is a couple of mins walk with restaurants and loungers. Also a couple of mins walk up the road to lots more restaurants. Definitely stay here!

Very friendly hosts and a great room
Reviewed By talisar2015Very friendly hosts and a great room with the best shower we had on our trip through Cuba! You can do your laundry and have breakfast here for a very reasonable price. There’s a WiFi park close to the casa but most importantly.. there is a small stand close to the casa with the best churros EVER! We rented bikes across our casa and our hosts helped us to rent a motorcycle for a day. One small side note: take plenty of mosquito protection with you because (depending on the season maybe) at sunset/night there is a mosquito invasion!
