Do not Recommend - won't be back

My wife and I spent one Saturday night in December 2021 in the room at the back of the property. The accommodation unfortunately did not live up to the promised standard. The mattress needs urgent replacement and made for a very uncomfortable night of sleeping. The curtains did not properly block the light - as soon as daylight broke through, the room was showered in bright light. The cleanliness was questionable, with the towels having bleach marks. The so-called free breakfast was self-help and so basic, we just turned around and walked out. The only positive thing I can mention is the location - it is an amazing location within short walking distance from Busselton Foreshore and Jetty. If only a little bit of love and care can be combined with the location, this will be an amazing property - in its current state we won't be back.

Disappointing experience

Reviewed By Louise C

Upon first arrival we were pleased with the charm of the place until we went into our room. Considering it is winter and it was raining and cold, there was no remote for the air conditioning. I rang the after hours number to be told that the previous guest took it and it wasn't his problem. After returning to our room later that night we discovered that the bathroom tap constantly drips, so was like having water torture all night. This morning get into the shower to discover mold on the walls and ceiling. Thankfully we were only spending one night. Upon check out I mentioned the issues to the person behind the desk only to be told that the remote has been missing for some time and when asked why are you still renting out the room I got told "where else are they going to go". He also did not seem bothered that there is a mold issue in the bathroom, which by the amount there it has also been growing for some time.

Great character accomodation

Reviewed By Vanessa M

We spent 4 enjoyable nights at character filled Admiral Stirling Inn. This place is no cookie-cutter soulless hotel. A collection of cute, different, ship-themed rooms in a two-storey wooden building just behind Margaret River’s Main Street. Our double room suited us with a teen who wanted his own space. Two bedrooms with an ensuite between them. Air con, tv and fridge in both bedrooms. The price was good too! The rooms have lovely wood framed windows and doors. Our rooms were downstairs and there was some noise from our neighbours upstairs but it didn’t worry us. If you can’t use stairs, ensure you book a room downstairs. We loved being able to walk easily to all cafes and shops on the Main Road. Especially when the traffic was so crazy! We also enjoyed walking along the Margaret River, easy to access the path from the Inn. There is a common area (The Engine Room) with kitchen and picnic tables if you want to bring takeaway food back to the Inn. I recommend booking to eat at delicious La Scarpetta and Pizzica if you visit during school holidays. They are very popular.

Jacaranda Guest house

Reviewed By billgN5022GF

Jacaranda Guest House is a very old house that has been converted into several rooms and out buildings. Quite old fashioned, but comfortable. Husband and I stayed in the old house, two joined bedrooms with an ensuite. Double bed (I’m 170cm so just fitted) and a single bed with a big bathroom. Set well off the street behind a lovely garden there was no road noise. Very quiet in the house, so much so that we could hear the other guests speaking in the dining room at breakfast and room next door. Not really a problem as we were out most of the time and up early anyway. Off street parking in the wide driveway. Breakfast was included and there was plenty. Three kinds of toast, several spreads, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea and yoghurt. A guest kitchen with fridge and a sink supplied with tea, coffee and snacks anytime. There was a tv in a shared lounge with rather old but clean sofas. I understand the place has been sold. No idea what new management will do but it suited our needs being very close to the event space for Busso100.
