Clean but a bit lacking in character
Reviewed By NorthumberlandAlfWe ended up here as our booked accommodation couldn’t take us. The hotel has a beautiful garden and rooms are immaculately clean but a bit spartan as is the breakfast. Host was helpful giving us a shuttle to town to eat. If you are arriving by bicycle it is a long way up the hill out of the town.

Reviewed By TifKohMy first stay here was 8 years ago. This time I opted to stay at Forest Life, Luye, Taitung again with a different group of relatives. I assured them that this place would ‘delight’ them. True enough, they were full of WOWs from the moment they checked in till they left Taitung physically. I felt so good to be back to a cozy home again! Firstly, the property itself. The beautiful interior decor gave an English countryside feel. Every single item & corner is decorated with a sincere touch! It is so thoughtful! It’s so comfortable to stay here. Anyone would have thought that the property should be deteriorated after so many years but you are in for a surprise. It is well-maintained. It has been done up again & it’s as good as new. The owners are opening up more rooms! Lovely! The exterior is calm & peaceful, surrounded by plantations...dragon fruits & custard apples. The green pasture blends in well with sunrise. I sat at the veranda on 2 mornings just to watch sunrise & to breathe in fresh air. Sat in a swing actually helped me to relax & dump all my anxieties away:)) We had welcome fruits & juices at check-in! My favourite custard apples, so sweet & juicy. Breakfast table was filled with wholesome dishes prepared with careful planning like a Chef. Mrs Lim, the lady boss, had an eye for detail. Her self-made yummy dishes were so palatable to our taste. So refreshing & unique. The hot/cold water dispenser is outside the rooms. We washed our clothes using their washing machine. Detergent and hangers were provided at the washing area. We watched DVD (provided in the property). We played with their lovely cat. Mrs Lim was inviting & friendly. She even gave us a few packets of their Japanese rice (her own crops)! We were so thankful for her generosity. We were so reluctant to part with her! Thank you for giving us a memorable vacation. My relatives ‘encored’ for another return trip. This time with more people I guess! Hopefully, you’re gonna house us all and we will definitely explore more around the area. We miss you Mrs Lim! We can’t wait to see you & stay here again.

Lutai winery . B&B is located right on top of the hill where Taitung hot air balloon festival is held. We are surrounded by a huge grassfield where your kids can run, fly kites, play balls, go picnic... This is the best holiday accommodation for families and friends.

Reviewed By serog5I visited this place Luye (鹿野高台) about 7yrs ago and it has left a great impression with me and I said I will want to come back and stay here for a few nights. In my latest family trip, I make sure the itinerary covers this area and choose to stay here for 2 nights. I booked my accommodations directly with them and their responses were fast and prompt. I communicated with them in Mandarin but I believed they won’t have any issues to reply you in English. On arrival, the check in were easy and they make sure that we are well settled in before they left us to ourselves. The rooms on Tripadvisor are exactly what it is shown. Simple, but classic and elegant. That is why I didn’t bothered to take any pics to show. The room My family stayed in was really cleaned and tidy. We stay on the 2nd floor in Room 2. During our stay here, the servers will always be willing to serve and help us and strike a conversation with us. We brought in our own food (for dinner), they actually encouraged us to use their utensils and even help us to clean them. The view in this place is heavenly. On good weather you should be able to see galaxies of stars but unfortunately for us, the weather were not in our favour. If you really want to see the stars I believed coming here during spring or summer would be the best. Few things to note when you are staying here. 1) Most loose items like cutleries and toiletries are provided but are stored in a common area. 2) bottled water are provided but they also have water dispenser in the common area 3) coffee and tea is free the whole duration of your stay with them in their cafe. And I am not referring to just instant coffee and tea. But like cappuccino, latte add etc. 4) breakfast were included. But instead of the usual buffet line it was family style with local Asian cuisine thou toasts are available too. 5) heated water for showers are limited in the day. 6am-8am and 6pm to 12midnight. 6) Servers are staying in the building on level 3, so if you need any emergency assistance they will be there too. My conclusion and recommendation is that if you are coming to this part of Taiwan, please make sure you come and stay in this B&B, it is definitely worth it to stay here! I will definitely be back again!

Welcome to Luye! We have seven rooms in our three floors home include comfortable lobby and kitchen. Two twin bed rooms and Three king size room and One double king size beds room and One twin & double room. We offer the breakfast & tea & coffee. But we don’t provide the once goods like toothbrushes and toothpaste because we love the earth. Please bring by yourself. The home rules 1. No smoking inside 2. No pets 3. No eating in the rooms

Unforgettable stay at Luye

We hope that this quality B&B will stay as a quiet gem as we are already making plans to visit beautiful Luye again next year, but our wonderful hosts deserve recognition for their hospitality during our 2-night stay. Our room was very clean and breezy. Their breakfasts were the best we had throughout our tour of Hualien and Taitung. Reviewed By MiaoHui K從鹿野車站出來後約距離2.3km可到達結米家，個人有租機車所以覺得算方便，也有騎過單車往返(坡度還好，不會難騎)，沒有交通工具者結米也有時段性的加價$50接送服務；但晚上約莫6~7pm後這段台9線就蠻暗的(沒有路燈)，建議不要太晚回家。 當晚入住的為混合房，簡單舒適，公共空間也很乾淨，有很多書籍和旅遊資訊可以參考。結米人很好及好聊，廚藝超好，建議房客加價$100就有超級豐盛的早餐可以享用。 本次住宿經驗個人覺得很不錯，有機會會再回來及體驗打工換宿。
