Prime Located Average old Hotel for short stay
Reviewed By AFriend00Location: This is a well located hotel with most of other hotels in Kanyakumari just adjacent. This is probably one of the older hotels constructed in 90s\ early 2000s needing renovation. The location is prime\ old & hence not well planned for today's needs. The location is suitable for visiting the sunrise\ sunset points, boarding the boat to Vivekananda Rock, walk around with all the other visitors. Parking: Almost all the hotels (except a couple) here dont have enough parking. All cars were parked on the road & this one was not an exception. About 4 cars were parked & remaining they tried to find parking in other hotels. But, the place was very congested during visit that i wished i had not brought the car to this road. Good point was traffic was being cleared regularly by some of the other hotel staff. Rest assured any hotel in this area is having this challenge. The government parking facility near shore was always full despite its large size during both days of my stay. Rooms: The room brought in memories of hotels i had visited in 90s. There were not adequate pillows, improperly placed cupboard blocking light, old toilet provisions, had hooks in the room to hang dresses which is not seen nowadays, toilets with no exhaust & small window in toilet shows up on the corridor side. The intercom provided does not work. On day of visit, someone visiting terrace for viewing sunrise had damaged the solar panel & hence no hot water. That said, the room is adequate for a day or two stay considering the location advantage it comes with. A\C room needs to chosen if needed & TV provided. You will get towels & soap but no other accessories. Staff: The staff at reception were very supportive, They helped with baggage collection during check-in & check-out, parking the car, providing additional pillows on request, etc without any hesitation. Restaurant: There is no restaurant in this hotel. The area is surrounded by lot of "small" eateries within 200m but ALL were crowded during our time of visit. Couple of decent restaurants were always crowded that you cant step in. You will need to manage with available small eateries mostly. There is a Saravana Bhavan near the temple along the shore but no other chain of hotels. Walking is the BEST transport mode around. Overall: This is a average hotel for those visiting Kanyakumari as a tourist to visit the attractions without need for additional transportation. The pricing was way higher in comparison to facilities provided due to peak season.

Reviewed By PKS188The location of this hotel is infront of Vivekananda Trust Main Gate at very prime location. The room was very good and hygienic and they were maintained very needly. Everything in the rooms are well maintained and updated. good parking area, very responsible and loyal reception person. We felt pleasure to stay in the hotel. "We can see the sun raise from the terrace of the hotel.”

Reviewed By Explorer03336857335Not a family friendly hotel ….they didn’t allow us to take food for baby to room since it was COVID time and staffs were very rude to say that it is not their policy for guests to bring food from Restaurent to room …also they don’t have provision to order breakfast in room which was inhumanly having a toddler with us and we were forced to vacate the hotel early due to unavailability of food and also for some reason hot Water was not coming regularly and they asked us to keep the shower open for 5 to 10 minutes to waste all the water to keep the hot water to start coming which was a major blunder since they had some sensor issues in their solar heater ..don’t bring kids or elderly people to this hotel which I won’t recommend since staffs are not much supportive and don’t bother to take room service and extra care

HOTEL SHYAMA is decent hotel started during 2012 with all modern facilities of a star hotel, affordable, moderate at rates with 15 individually Air conditioned rooms and 13 Non-A/C rooms suitable for executives, families and business people. Hotel is located in the city center about 5 minutes drive from Railway Station, 20 minutes drive from Kanyakumari and walk-able distance from Anna Bus stand. Hotel has spacious car parking with Lift facility and providing free Wi-Fi to all rooms.

The rooms are good, well planned with large mirror and nice curtains. The staff is very friendly, helpful and co-operative. Varieties of food are available in the NKR Restaurant.

Reviewed By fjifriBooked the hotel though booking,com, in the booking site, rooms are good, clean and with all room amenities. We reach around 2pm for check in and no any issues in check in. There is only 1 guy there and our room is in 2nd floor, we need to carry all our luggages and this guy will not even mind to carry a bag. Room is big with big bed as you can see in the pictures. But unfortunately only room you will get as good in pic. The mat near toilet is so dirty and you cant wipe your leg in that, dirty will come from that. There is no single thing in toilet, no bath towel, even no soap. There is no drinking water also. I go down and ask the guy about that and he told he will arrange. After when came back he give 1 towel and a soap. Even the towel is dirty with full of stains. He said cant change floor mat and no water (Great). Next day early morning we check out, only the same guy only there. And he asking any tip for him. If he help anything its happy to give him, not even helping to carry bags, not giving any room amenities then what want to give. The place is in Vivekanthapuram, if you are visiting Rock and all, you need to take an auto (Cost 50 Rs) and coming back also you need an auto, and if you going return by bus, you need to take again auto (Rs 60) to reach bus stand and it will cost you too much money only for autos. Better stay somewhere around Rock memorial, have many hotels. Worst staying experience.
