Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. Although this multi-sport tour does not involve canyoneering (rappelling), it is a route that Desert Highlights' founder created in the late 1990's as a unique and self-supported way to explore wild and remote terrain. A tour of this fashion is not being done by any other company in Moab. This tour combines mountain biking and packrafting in order to explore a section of the Green River that can otherwise only be seen on multi-day rafting trips. We'll ride our bikes down an old mining road to a point along the Green River. Here, we'll blow up our packrafts (that we've been carrying in our backpacks!), strap our bikes down to the front and float down one of the most scenic sections of the Green River Labyrinth Canyon corridor - all in a day's work!

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! Book this tour! We had a fabulous day with Jake. We are in our mid 50’s and brought our 22 year old twins with us. They loved it too. Climbed, scrambled, rappelled, so much fun! Felt safe the entire time. Jake took really great care of us. We also did the Pedal/Paddle/Pedal with Desert Highlights- Such a unique experience - great time! Really like that Desert Highlights caters to small private tours. Fabulous experience.

What a phenomenal experience we had with Neil of Desert Solitude. Neil customized a wonderful excursion for our party of ten people. With four adults and six boys (ages 8-16), Neil had to work hard to ensure everyone had a great time, and we sure did. We visited Arches and Canyonland National Parks all in one day. Our group was made up of skilled hikers/runners to busted up knee and bad achilles kind of hikers (me). Neil claimed from the onset that he prided himself on being flexible, and this was no lie. I took more moderate hikes while the rest of the group did the more challenging ones. Everyone was satisfied. Neil has an easy, affable, and informative charm about him that makes each person feel at ease. My 14-year-old son referred to Neil as a "G.O.A.T." This is high praise from a teenage boy. We will most assuredly use Neil again when we return to Utah. Wish we could give him 6-stars!

On April 6, 2021 five of us went on a canyoneering adventure in the Robbers Roost/Dirty Devil Wilderness. Led by Christopher and Melissa we could not have had more fun. The route was strenuous and challenging but doable. Safety first with lots of teaching and encouragement. This organization and the people who run it, Christopher and Melissa, are the best. You absolutely can't go wrong with them. This was our second go around with them and we have an idea of what we want to do next year.
