Village du Pere Noel

I went to the Santa Village Saturday morning, it's been over 10 years I haven't been since and I was turned off by its outdated appearance and staff. No innovation or renovations there. It was very over priced for what they offered. Adults and children payed full price of $18 per person offering no discount price for children. Worsted of all when the kids made there way up to see big old Santa I noticed that there Santa reeked with urine. I was appalled, thank heavens the children didn't notice that he smelled like a barn animal. It will be unfortunately my last time there to visit. Hopefully there will be a better replacement place to visit for Christmas time the next year.

Boutique Galerie Kinya Ishikawa

Reviewed By GlobetrotterSH - Canada

When visiting the Laurentian Mountains north of the City of Montreal, you will find many lovely boutiques, galleries and artisans shops in the picturesque towns and villages throughout the Mountains. This is one of them. An accomplished potter, Kinya has made quite a name for himself in the world of ceramics and we keep going back to his boutique and atelier ever since he made a stunning, deep red coffee service for us way back in the early eighties.
He is also the creative force behind the 1001 POTS Exhibition that runs from beginning July to middle of August each year. But it is much more than an exhibition of pottery and ceramics. It is a place where cultures, nature and art come together, a work in progress and a story of love. Indeed, it would have been difficult for Kinya to find a more serene and bucolic setting to showcase the works of over 100 artists every summer over the past 28 years.
The majestic evergreens, the Silica garden, the stacked Boulders, the Tea House, the enchanting miniature garden and the attention to detail all contribute to an unequalled and peaceful atmosphere that has to be one of the highlights of the Laurentian summer season. The exhibition, located in the heart of picturesque Laurentian town Val David, is said to be the largest annual pottery show and sale in North America, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Workshops and various demonstrations are part of the daily activities, allowing visitors to discover the wonderful world of Québec ceramics.
Thousands of works of mostly local artisans are on display in a multitude of styles and formats. With prices ranging from $ 10 to $ 2000, it is easy to find something that fits the budget. Artists are present on a rotating basis and if you are lucky, you will be able to enjoy a musical interlude in the Silica garden, as we did when we visited this year. The entrance fee is $ 2.00/person.

Ski Vallee Bleue

Reviewed By AmyS1975 - Vaudreuil-Dorion, Canada

I really loved this ski hill. We visited on April 1 and the place was empty, so zero wait time at the chair lifts. The "easy" and the "intermediate" hills were perfect for my caliber, giving me plenty of trail options. The trails were well maintained, but of course some got slushy as the morning progressed on this Spring day (+3 degrees Celsius).
The chalet is small and the boutique doesn't offer much, but the place was quaint and comfortable. We got to park right by the chalet, ski lift, ski racks... that's how small it is.
I will definitely return! Had so much fun!

Ferme Duquette

We booked a sleigh ride during the holidays. We called 3 times to organize our visit (adding people, etc) and everything was supposed to be okay. When we got there with our group of 15 people they couldn't find our reservation and made us feel and look stupid by saying this was our fault. They didn't even offer some kind of arrangement, I felt very let down especially that this was not our first time there but it definitely was our last.

A l'Abordage

A l'abordage offers a 7km boat trip on the North River by canoe or kayak. A quiet stretch of whitewater, safe for beginners, nature lovers and for the whole family. Return along the P'tit Train du Nord bike path (flat and easily accessible). One of the most beautiful outdoor activities in laurentians. New excursions on the Diable River, Mont Tremblant!

Reviewed By Darlene M

Rent a kayak, paddle easily down river for around 2 hours, drop the kayak, pick up a bicycle and head back via a woodland trail. All included, 3 hours, for under $40!
The river section was very easy to paddle as you are floating with the current. The views are beautiful. There are houses along the river for some parts so it is not like a Wilderness retreat. Also on the bike ride back, there was quite a bit of " bike traffic". The rental includes ocean or covered kayaks, single or double. The bicycles are standard and comfortable. If you have kids you can rent the adaptor thing to have the child on the back.
The kayak portion finishes on a little beach where you can take a break and enjoy a swim or lunch at a picnic table. It was a very relaxing 3 hours.
