Achensee

We came here for a day trip in the summer and loved it - the location is so beautiful, very scenic. We parked in Pertisau and were lucky to find parking along the lake. From there it was a short walk to the boats - you can take a round trip or a one-way trip for a various length of time - we were here with two small children so opted for a 40-minute round trip around the lake and that was perfect. Once you're on the boat you can order ice-cream and coffees etc - this is quite highly priced as you would expect, but it's part of the experience. Absolutely beautiful location and we can't wait to return and spend more time here.

Rofanseilbahn

The Rofan Mountain is a must when visiting the area, and is very scenic and good for both hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Offers a bit for everybody, from easy to hard slopes. The fare seems to be a bit expensive, compared to other alpine cable cars.

Atoll Achensee

Featuring a rooftop infinity pool, a Penthouse-SPA for heavenly relaxing moments, a LAKESIDE-Gym with mountain vistas and a playground for bouldering enthusiasts, the Atoll Achensee is the perfect spot for swimming, sauna bathing and relaxing. Comprising a total area of 50,000 m2, the new leisure attraction at Tirol’s largest lake offers a diverse range of recreational activities and a view not to be missed.

We came here after visiting Achensee and taking a short boat trip, then spent the rest of the afternoon at the Atoll. We were lucky that it was a hot August day but it wasn't too busy. The facilities are beautiful, the swimming pools and the rest of the areas spotlessly clean. The staff were really friendly, and you can rent towels at reception for a small fee which we really appreciated. There are several swimming pools inside, including a baby pool, and you can swim straight from inside to an outside pool. The views are amazing. There is also a large spa, which we didn't visit - at reception you get the option to buy tickets for the swimming pools only, or to include entry to the spa. The outside play area is equally amazing with lots and lots of different activities for children - whether it be playing on/inside the old boat, jumping on trampolines or playing in the sand. You can also access the lake directly and swim there. We ate at the restaurant - food was great, service very good and prices reasonable. Overall a great experience and we can't wait to return.
