Saddleback Golf Club

Challenging 18-hole championship golf course set against a panoramic backdrop of mountain and prairie scenery.

Reviewed By ColoradoYankee - Fort Collins, Colorado

Played this course as party of a "scramble" tournament from the gold tees at 6585 yards. We really enjoyed it, and I would look forward to coming back and playing it normally. The course was in great condition, some really nice water holes, and the staff all very nice.

Barr Lake State Park

A premier Colorado spot for birdwatching.

Reviewed By Jim R - Highlands Ranch, Colorado

This park is good because of leadership, staff and volunteers who offer such a variety of programs and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors,
With the restrictions in funding our state park system they were able to build a great nature center - this is good for our community.
It is fun to walk around the lake and see the bird life - lots of white pelicans the day I was there.

Vintage Aero Flying Museum

Reviewed By SargeantKinchloe - California

A little off the beaten track, at a small airport north east of Denver. The museum was started by the current operator's grandfather. It has a good set of flying replica's of WWI aircraft. The real treasure is the WWI articles. Uniforms, memorabilia, nick-knacks for all WWI aviation participants - US, UK, France, Germany, Italy.... Most of the European ones are one of a kind because WWII destroyed most of the WWI museums in Europe.

Blitz Paintball

Reviewed By CinColo - Denver, Colorado

My 12 yr. old daughter and her friend and her 19 year old and 17 year old cousins just had their first paintball experience at Blitz yesterday. None of them had ever played before. They had a great time! If it's your first time, prepare to take 30 min-1 hour with orientation, fitting, asking questions, and reading about the many different games you can play. It's recommended you do a couple private games first (if you have enough people) to get used to the rules and equipment. Then you can play public. You can also switch back and forth between private and public games throughout the day. Remember to ask to read their game list, so you can get an idea of the rules for each. Good starting games include capture the flag and capture the duck. Also, always make sure and bring the recommended clothing. One other note. It appears they offer snacks during the spring/summer/fall but not winter, so remember to pack along something to snack on. The kids are very eager to go back again!

Fort Vasquez Museum

Reviewed By HARLAND R - FORT COLLINS

Fort Vasquez wasn't a military fort. It did have a protective perimeter wall with look out ports, but was for traders, blacksmith, food preparation. Native Americans would bring their buffalo and other hides in to exchange for implements, beads, etc. Trappers would get supplies as would travelers passing through. Its history is interesting, how the site was discovered. There are some Native American garb, etc displays inside. Very worthwhile for a brief visit. $2. admission.

Though the music got a bit too loud, this place is great! Not a huge amount of people, great prices on the drinks and friendly people.

Wild Cider

Reviewed By Sultana D - Nederland, Texas

The cider bar is a small room, and guests sit on picnic tables outside overlooking the orchard. The flight of ciders is inexpensive and tasty. I loved the peach cider. The cider makers are very informational and friendly. They will give a tour of the cidery and explain the process. They serve complimentary pretzels and peanuts. The drive to this place will feel as if you are on a country road going no where. Suddenly, the cidery and orchard appear and you are pleasantly surprised. They have 4 packs of canned cider that you can buy.

Visiting in area for a month and stopped in to get visitors lending card. Unfortunately they do not offer one. Disappointed since many communities offer it for a small fee and had hoped to borrow some books.
