When you visit the beautiful organic garden, he'll tell you more about the history and show you all of his organic herbs and vegetables. Da grows rice, various types of basil, green beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, bananas, papaya, pineapple, galangal, ginger, and much much more! Almost all of the ingredients that you cook will come from his garden, freshly picked!

We had a great time learning how to make traditional Thai food and also experiencing the farmers market with a local. Great class and Da is full of knowledge and makes the experience so wonderful! Thank you!

We visited here one evening, took longer than we thought in a taxi (about 45minutes from the north gate) but was worth the journey. Lovely temples to see and the Monks delivering their evening ritual. The temples lit up were stunning and there were equally brilliant views over the city. One thing we would mention is to make sure that the taxi driver waits there for you as when we came out at about half 7 there was only 1 taxi there which we luckily managed to get in to get back down to the city.

lots of bamboo huts on the lakeside where you can enjoy delicious thai food here. many restaurants to choose , so hope you get the best taste.
mine is general, but the chicken wing is delicious.
price not too expensive.
i experience this kinda thing in loei, but there they using bamboo raft so you can go in the middle of the lake, not just sitting nearby.
some people do swimming around.
and some sleeping after they eat.
its nice to escape from the city life and just enjoy the silence and the view
if you dont your own vehicle, can rent from the red songthaew and they can waiting for you there.

We spent most of a day in Chiang Mai enjoying the many attractions of Doi Suthep National Park. We started with a visit to Wat Phrathat, which was first built near the summit of Doi Suthep almost 700 years ago, and hosting a relic of the Buddha. This is one of the most popular temples in Thailand, for both locals and international visitors, and its popularity is well deserved. We then visited several Waterfalls, including some that were a bit off the beaten tourist track but well managed for campers and groups of students or researchers. The many hiking trails indicated that many of the park's visitors welcome the opportunity to get closer to nature, and guides are available to help visitors enjoy the experience. We also had a quick tour of some of the Park's research sites, helping us understand their use for long-term monitoring of the several forest types on the mountain. We found the information signs at many of the park's attractions to be very helpful, with most of them having English versions (perhaps add other languages, especially Chinese, in the future?). We also enjoyed the Bhubing Palace, used by the Royal Family when they visit the north; its grounds serve as a colorful and diverse botanic garden. Doi Suthep was mostly shrouded in fog during our visit, which kept us cool and lifted in time to give us nice views of the city; it would certainly offer a pleasant respite during warmer times of the year. We hired a van for the day, which meant that we did not need to worry about parking (a problem in such a popular site) and were able to fully enjoy the richness of nature's attractions.

From the whole trip in Chiang Rai, this was my favorite place. You have the feeling as if you are in a movie. The place is very authentic and if you go in the afternoon there probably won't be any people.
If you are coming with car, you can park it next to the entrance or close to the road in the beginning, but keep in mind that the parking is not very big.
There is also a coffee shop.
Keep in mind that it may be chilly and it is good to have something to put on.

I spent over an hour wandering into the various Pagoda's and temples. There is an onsite museum and the opportunity to "meet a Monk". They find this educational as they have the opportunity to practice speaking English. It is beneficial as they explain their daily routines and what it means to be a monk.
The main temple in the middle, is over 600 years old and has been rebuilt many times due to Earthquakes. I have some stunning photographs here.
