As the second Escape Room we have tried throughout the city and this location just south of the city of Pittsburgh, this is still the one that we felt offered the best experience so far. It gives the entire team the space and ability to contribute based on the clues and in the way it comes together. One or two in the group will work on a challenge while others in the group search for other clues that suddenly come together in a logical way.
It has the advantage of utilizing a real bank safe and is so clever and fun. We did succeed in the heist and that was the added bonus of course! For Escape addicts this is a definite one to do. They have a second Escape that is now ready and we can't wait to experience their new room.
This is such a fun thing to do in the area and if you haven't tried it, get a group of friends and family and plan to do it.

I have heard and read lots about this business that has moved around to several locations, and now has found a long term home at a funeral home. Any new business in Monessen is good, and thank the gods of kobal this place is on 2nd Avenue, and you do not have to trek far into town.
Its a $20 per person, cash only. Parking is above the house, and local police has a visiable presence. Plenty of well trained volunteer actors, and you are well greeted. and your tour begins. Now, in my opinion, I expect to be scared. Scared I was not. You are taken through several rooms with live actors, and given a brief storyline, with tasks to solve to move on to the next room and so on. When you walk from room to room, there is some scaring, but our group of four, I was at the end, so no one jumped out at me.
The house is decorated well, the all-volunteer actors are very professional, and I would return if the house would go darker and a full blown walk-thru scare house.
This is more like a good place for families to tour together, and solve the riddles. At the end there is a well-stocked retail shop with photo opportunities, shirts, all sorts of haunted accessories, and lots more. They also sell hot dogs, chips, hot chocolate. soda etc. We did the probably final tour last Sunday, and everyone was still energetic.

I had seen a show on the Weather Channel about Donora and the Smog Museum a few months ago. We live about 4-5 hours from there, so my husband and I planned an overnight trip to Pittsburgh and this was one of the attractions we wanted to visit. We got to the area later than planned on the first day, and I knew the museum closed at 3 PM. (at least that is what the guide book said) So, we went on to Pittsburgh and planned to hit it the next day. I called the next morning, to verify the hours, and the answering machine said they would be open 11 AM to 3 PM. We checked out of our hotel accordingly and got there at 11:30 AM. Only to find a sign on the door saying they were closed that day for a Community Picnic at some park! Could they NOT have put this on the answering machine a few days prior?? One day out of the year they are closed, and I happened to hit it? Needless to say, I was very disappointed at not being able to get in at all. It seemed the whole town was shut down. So, it was a wasted trip for me, and since it is quite a ride, I do not know if I will get there again. For a town/attraction in need of an economical boost, they dropped the ball. They could have made a few bucks off me. All I can say is, if you go, call ahead and TRY to get someone to return your call to verify hours. I realize the workers are volunteers, but since it was on TWC I'd think people would come. Especially since there are other tourist attractions within an hour or so of here.

Excellent place to visit for a taste of Mon Valley wines. Rich the owner is almost always onsite to amaze you with his history of the winery and knowledge of wines. A good choice to bring out of town visitors.

I always visit every time I go back to the area. The park is great to visit anytime. The working exhibit farm is interesting and accessible year round.
In the warmer months the playgrounds, splash pad pavilions and picnic areas are great places to relax and hang out.
I always go there to run because the park's paved areas are hilly and challenging and the park' groomed dirt trails and paths are also great for challenging runs, but also for dog walks and horse rides.
Round Hill Park and Exhibit Farm has something for everyone!

Very pretty view. Good live music. Wines are expensive and pours are small. Different food vendors each weekend. I found it odd they did not have cheese plates to pair with the wine. They encourage you to pay extra to try the more expensive wines but if you are buying the cheaper bottles anyway,. why taste the expensive stuff. Also wine not sold by glass, bottle only.

Wonderful tour and informative tour, knowledgeable guides (Jaden and Marie), beautiful antique furniture in excellent condition. The castle was named after the Shawnee chief, Nemacolin, who helped to improve and mark the ancient Native American trail through the Alleghenies. It provides an excellent view into three specific time periods in American history: America's frontier period and the trading post era of 1789, the Colonial era of 1814, and the Victorian era of 1850. Nemacolin Castle was built by the Jacob Bowman family in 1789 and has been owned and maintained by the Brownsville Historical Society since the early 1960's. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

This was recommended for apple picking by a friend and it did not disappoint.
It is fairly easy to find. I used google maps and it took me straight to the location. The parking is in a field so if it rains or is soggy stay near the lanes with rocks in them or you may run the risk of getting stuck.
The apple field is to the left as you drive in and you buy a bag for $20 and fill it up from the fields depending on what apples are available. They have a table with sliced up apples to taste. When we were there they had the petting zoo, hayrides, kid area and slides. Additionally they had a wine tasting, food area and a place that sold apple donuts that were excellent.
Overall it was a very nice place and worth the visit although it was very busy on the day we went
