Mornington Peninsula National Park

Mornington Peninsula National Park is a favourite of Melburnians looking to escape the nearby city. Experienced surfers flock to Gunamatta Beach, while rockpools at Sorrento Ocean Beach, close to town, are perfect for families. Dip into the excellent surf beaches of the Mornington Peninsula National Park. Tackle the waves of Gunnamatta, Flinders, Portsea and Rye ocean beaches. Step out on The Coastal Walk for spectacular coastal views. The two-day walk meanders along high clifftops, through coastal vegetation and past stunning ocean beaches. A haven for native wildlife such as kangaroos, Greens Bush is the largest fragment of native bushland remaining on the Mornington Peninsula.

A great spot at the southern tip of the mornington peninsula area. From the beaches of Sorrento/Portsea to the pretty cape schanck area with its lighthouse it has a bit of everything. add in wildlife areas such as Greens Bush with its abundant wallabies and kangaroos or the beaches of fingal/gunnamatta or flinders, you will find reasons to return time and time again. So many spots to visit that you will want to return more than once

Cape Schanck Lighthouse

Reviewed By EricaKL - Melbourne, Australia

The Cape Schanck Lighthouse Reserve at the southernmost tip of Mornington Peninsula is a real treasure. Obviously the historic lighthouse is a draw card, although the reserve's clifftop walks and coastal views are quite spectacular. You can trek from the top of Cape Schanck, down the steps and pathways to Pulpit Rock and the Black Pebble Beach. A great visit for families. Look out for whales between May and October.

Pulpit Rock

Reviewed By P5264PYjohna - Melbourne, Australia

Go to the top lookout first so you can see the overall view. Head down and enjoy this steep but enjoyable boardwalk to see the rock, pebble beach and sparkling sea if you go late afternoon. Good shoes or sandals are recommended but many people also had thongs on. Go to the lighthouse afterwards and have a picnic there.

Ace-Hi Ranch

Reviewed By SuziMo2019 - Melbourne, Australia

Accommodating, laid back and highly recommended for anyone planning a DIY wedding. Jodi was great to work with in the lead up to the wedding, clearly setting out what was and wasn’t included and addressing our queries/concerns in the lead up to the big day. The weekend wedding package was also extremely reasonably priced and provided more than enough onsite accommodation for ourselves and our guests. The rooms were lovely -rustic log cabins with kitchenettes and bathrooms- and our guests loved the community feeling of being onsite for the weekend with the couple and other guests. Being onsite meant the ability to enjoy themselves without worrying about who would be designated driver, when to leave to avoid the traffic, or how long it left before the kids’ bedtime. It also ensured that everyone could easily enjoy the onsite recovery breakfast the next morning. My partner and I booked out Ace Hi for the weekend to provide enough time to set up and get comfortable on the Friday, before our wedding on Saturday morning. The hall itself was spacious and we found it easy to decorate with fairy lights, calico banners and other small decorations. As the hall is made of wood, we found very few decorations were needed to make it a cosy and inviting space for the event. The large fireplace was also well used for our Winter wedding and kept well stocked by one of our guests throughout the day. The recovery breakfast the next morning (bacon & egg rolls with coffee) was absolutely delicious, with Ace Hi accommodating special dietary requirements for some of our guests (vegan, vegetarian and coeliac). It was a great venue and I’d recommend checking it out for your special event.
