On holidays by the north of Portugal we decided to go there. Our experience was very good. Not expensive. Very good and typical food from that region. So ..we recommend you all to take a walk by the stone streets of Piódão. We loved it :) !

Trans Serrano

This holiday we joined team Trans Serrano for the canyoning and the canoeing on mondego river.
Both activities were well organised, and although we were the only non-Portuguese speaking in the large canoeing group, we felt well looked after thanks to the personal servo from our friend Patricia.
But our favourite is the canyoning. Safe and exciting. Small group and looooots of fun.
Don't hesitate. Go!

There was nothing open in the village at this time of the year. The walk in the nature and in the village were enjoyable.

Foz d'Egua

Option 1:
Drive to Piodao. From there walk to Foz d'Egua, you will get scenic views (around 1.5 hour hike)
Option 2:
Drive directly to Foz d'Egua. Be aware the roads are small and passing another coming car can be difficult.
Foz d’Égua is an idyllic small village with well preserved schist houses (like those in Piodao). There is also a beautiful small fluvial beach.. it's a lovely place to take a swim but the water is freezing!!

Quiet village by the river Alva side. The water is clear and not too cold for a river beach. The Bridges and the vegetation complete the scenery.
