Kaohsiung Port Warehouse No. 2

Reviewed By Musings_MJ - Singapore, Singapore

The former port warehouse known as Banana Warehouse has been developed into a space for artists to exhibit their wares (on the second floor) and there are several restaurants, cafes on the ground floor. Outside along the pier, there were many food trucks set up on a Saturday afternoon selling bubble tea, kebahs, burgers, pasta, waffles. There were also buskers which created a lively atmosphere. At the end of the pier, there was a amusement park with ferris wheel and other rides. There was also a man made stream with sand bank for children complete with a replica of Hobbiton. We enjoyed our afternoon tremendously and easily spent 2-3 hours walking and enjoying the breeze. Highly recommend a visit which you can combine with a visit to the Pier 2 Arts centre across the road.

Gushan Ferry Pier

The ferry ride to Cijin Island takes only about 5 mins or so. It operates like every 10 mins. Rides are very cheap. Before we knew It, we were already on the island. Enjoyable short ride. Around the ferry area on Kaoshiung side are many eateries selling yummy shaved ice. A must-eat!!

Takao Railway Museum

Reviewed By SmartTravellerHK

The last train left the city’s oldest train station in 2008. Now, it is a museum devoted to telling the story of rail travel in Taiwan. Entrance to the railway museum is free. Enter the museum to browse its various locomotives that date back many decades. Capture photos of the models and imagine traveling in these outdated trains. See the old-fashioned steam engines on display. We enjoyed seeing the few locomotives, the empty tracks and a place for local artist to display their art.

Hamasen Museum Of Taiwan Railway

This is Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway. It's fun place, you can learn Taiwan railway history and actually take a small ride with min version of train. Kids love it very much. PS the ride is 149 for adult and 99 for kid and it's 6-7 mins ride. It's not really expensive since kids are really enjoy it.
