We took the full 90 minute tour. Great tour guide. The walk was not difficult at all. There are stairs, and a few places where even I, at 5 feet, had to bend low in order not to bang my head. It's a cool 50 degrees, you need a light weight jacket. Bring a camera, you will love this tour.

Nevada Northern Railway Museum

The Nevada Northern Railway is a non-profit historical foundation whose mission is to maintain and operate what has been acclaimed as the best-preserved railroad facility in the United States. Come, enjoy history with us! We offer 90-minute train rides up toward the historic Ruth Copper Mine, as well as a view into the history of what put this mining town on the map. Don't miss the included tour of the Engine House and yard after the train ride. You can see the facility that has been servicing these steam locomotives for over a century now. For the serious railfan, we offer the opportunity to be at the throttle (and brakes!) Of a real, standard-gauge, steam locomotive on your own private run "up the hill." Covid-19: Masks are required to ride the train and while inside buildings.

Bristlecone Trails

Scenic, 2.8-mile hiking trail at Nevada's Great Basin National Park.

Reviewed By rdrees - San Francisco, United States

Our family of five have been to many national parks, and this hike is one of our very favorites. It has an exhilarating but not too strenuous uphill climb that ends up placing you among the oldest trees in the world. The bristlecone pines are almost spiritual in their shriveled majesty, while imparting a sense of weariness along with hopeful wisdom. Don’t miss out on this relatively short hike if you make it to Great Basin National Park, as it is truly special.

Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park

Reviewed By worldcycle38 - Stateline, United States

Remote location with plenty of history. Suggest making more than a daytrip of it. Bring your camping gear for there is a nice campground. Wander around the ghost town, take a tour of the mine if it is open and by all means go check out the Ichthyosaur fossils. Really cool location in remote Nevada.
