Yesterday a friend and I took the 3 hour Sugar Island cruise on Moosehead Lake. The scenery is breathtaking and well worth the trip and cost. One aspect was a bit surprising....the staff was friendly, pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, eager to answer questions and generally all-around more special than any crew I’ve experienced on other cruises. Our lunches from the galley were excellent. My friend’s sandwich was delicious and the bread was my homemade. My Cesar salad included freshly grilled chicken and was excellent, as was the homemade chocolate chip cookie. We experienced a windy rainstorm. The crew gave us plenty of warning, ushered us into a safe place indoors, provided special activities for the children on board, and when the storm was over, they wiped off the chairs on deck and we resumed outdoor enjoyment of this beautiful lake. The museum and volunteers were helpful and informative. This outfit does a great job of making their passengers welcome and comfortable.
