Hotel Zima

Welcome to San Isidro, the largest city in the southern zone of Costa Rica, also affectionately referred to by locals as Perez Zeledon, located in the province of San Jose. In the Valley of the General, surrounded by Talamanca Mountains, the Cordillera de Talamanca is a Mountain range that lies on the border between Costa Rica and Panama. The Hotel Zima is undoubtedly the quietest hotel of the area, with a convenient location nearby to supermarkets, drugstores, restaurants, stores and bars, as well a just meters from the Musoc bus station which provides transportation service between San Jose- San Isidro-San Jose. Many tourists utilize San Isidro del General as a stopping point when traveling between San Jose and other southern Costa Rica destinations such as Dominical, Uvita, Golfito, the Peninsula de Osa and Puerto Jimenez. Perez Zeledon is also great town to prepare for treks to Cerro de la Muerte and Cerro Chirripo, which is Costa Rican's highest peak and most challenging climb. In summer it is possible on clear days to see all across the country (from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea). It would be a pleasure to coordinate your tours to Nauyaca Water Falls (road to Dominical) as well outdoor activities such as bird watching, horseback riding in Las Quebradas Center Biological.

Mostly positives for my stay

Reviewed By Diverdan28

My buddy and I had a one-night stopover in San Isidro and chose the Zima. The hotel is located off a quiet street well away from the main highway so it was very quiet. The reception staff were pleasant and efficient. The grounds and the pool are attractive and kept tidy and clean. The breakfast service was somewhat limited but the meal itself was very well prepared and very tasty. Service was excellent. Our room was average for the price. It was very clean and the two beds were comfortable. The A/C functioned well. The shower uses an electric heater which some find scary but i just found a tad slow to heat. We were short a couple of towels but when we asked, they were quickly provided. TV had multiple spanish language channels and CNN. But that seems to be the norm throughout Costa Rica. We had room 21 and my main complaint is that it was very dark. The one window provides very little light into the L-shaped room. This was Ok for one night but would be an issue for a multi-night stay. There are not a lot of spots in San Isidro but the Zima is probably one of the better choices for a short stay.

The hotel was incredibly clean and comfortable. Our stay included a free breakfast which was as excellent as the room. We particularly enjoyed the view. Don’t wear flip flops or the walk to breakfast might be a challenge. The next time we are this way we will definitely stay here again!

Great place to experience the beauty of Costa Rica

Reviewed By Saltspringsgirl

The hotel & restaurant are located just off the Pan American highway but what a beautiful tranquil spot. We bought a package which included our meals, room & 2 tours. Everything was first class. The hotel room is rustic but charming with an incredible view of San isidro. The food was basic but delicious. I cannot say enough about the zipline & the ATV tour. The guides were professional & friendly & safety oriented. I am a senior & appreciated their assisting me without making me feel like I was a chicken. This is a Tico family owned business who will go out of their way to ensure that you have a special stay.

The place is clean and the rooms are comfortable. The free breakfast was good and allot to choose from. The Casino has allot of machines, and they offer free beverages. It's located in downtown, so plenty of places for shopping and eating. You can catch a bus for in town and out of town travel. Taxis are easy to catch from downtown. English is spoken by some people at the hotel. I recommend this hotel.

Cocon en pleine nature

Reviewed By LACLOS7
