Laundry is done free of charge. The food is absolutely gorgeous nothing is too much h trouble. Perfect for recharging batteries,grounding oneself. "Poorna Birdsong" offers a real and surreal experience in the not so real world we all live in today; with the beautiful Mandovi river surrounding the space, making you feel more like a 70s hippy who falls in love with Goa and decides to stay rather than a tourist who visits Goa just for the beaches, beer, parties and festivals. Goa has so much more to offer. With a huge canopy surrounding the area much like the Amazons in Africa, Nerul village doesn't disappoint one with a crystal-clear sunrise and sunset. Just a 5 min drive from Candolim, it feels it is miles away from all the noise and commotion North Goa is infamous for. We've tried to shape Poorna Birdsong with love, the staff carrying a smile always to help you with anything you require any time 24*7, from places to travel, to where you can see the dolphins, to the most secluded and beautiful beaches/islands in Goa. You enter our place and surprisingly the voice from the inside whispers to you a single word, home.

Reviewed By whisperingwindzI'm really tired after a crazy, chaotic and long day of running around across my hometown in the peak of summers and the day isn't over yet..! As I settle down with a cup of coffee to calm my nerves a bit and close my eyes, the only place my mind immediately wanders to is Poorna Birdsong! Its been almost an year that I visited the place with my sisters (a total group of five), but everytime I need a mental escape, Poorna Birdsong is where I find myself in! Hence, the really late, but not to be missed review! Who is it for? For anyone who does not like conformity. Who likes wild, unhindered, unabashed beauty and finds joy in the absence of the urbane, too polished, too correct way of life in general - not just on a vacation. So Poorna was this beautiful old Portugese style Villa with beauty randomly strewn all over the place. The beds and bathrooms were nice, clean and comfortable, so you don't miss out on the basics. The breakfast was delicious and anything we asked for was made available to us with wake hospitality - which we enjoyed on the beautiful patio overlooking the pool and the river Nerul flowing right behind the villa. ( other meals are available on order from a nearby restaurant). Coming to the pool and the river. There is an infinity pool (yes please) in the backyard covered with trees and foilage and small outdoor bohemian decoratives of all sorts that peeps right into the river Nerul, which again in covered with trees in both sides giving you full proximity with mum nature (and yourself ) and the best (disconnecting) time of your life..! If you find beauty and comfort in old books and their nostalgic smells and feel (and similar stuff), the Poorna Birdsong is for you. Think tall old Banyan trees with their roots growing over the stone statues kept next to them, think stone sinks in the bathroom and the mysterious fragrance of after rains (petrichor is it called?) Mixed with that of flowers and leaves...think water dripping from leaves forming a small puddle and think yourself just calming down..! Are you in love with the place yet? If yes then you must go stay there. And the better it is if you go in the monsoons..Goa + Monsoons make a more terrific combination than you will ever imagine. Having said all this, let me also give a fair warning though. In my mostly happy with the place group too we did have someone who wasn't having the same feelings. If you would rather be at a place that gives you a formal, hotel like feel, then Poorna is not for you. However if the above outpour of my love for the place synced with you, then you know what to do!
