Lovely camping on heron loop if you like peace and space. You can see the water from western sites. If you want to party go on down to coyote loop... it’s high density camping and you’re gonna get to know your neighbors! We had a lovely time. Rented bikes from Boomerang, they are the best!! They delivered to our site. Took a full bike tour of island, great way to spend the day. Lots to do here, takes several days to explore the islands. Our cat loved it too. Plenty of nice pets around but not noisy. Perfect camping.

What a beautiful place! The welcome center has numerous kid friendly displays and adults will enjoy them too. The trails are well marked and they vary in length so if you don't have a lots of time, or just aren't up to a long hike, you can find one that will get you out in nature. The butterfly house was a great surprise and they have a garden too. We brought our dog with us and enjoyed hiking on several of the trails. The one that went along the river was so pretty and peaceful. We did meet a few people on the trails but it was ever crowded. There is a small gift shop inside the welcome center too. We will certainly be returning again.

Located close to Wellesley Island State Park, DeWolf Point State Park has its own set of rustic cabins perched right on the edge of the water (see pictures). I think it is intended for hard core fisherpersons, though anyone with a camera could find plenty to photograph. If you are on Wellesley Island, don't miss the chance to check it out!
