Kenyir Lake

Reviewed By francis_61jb - Singapore, Singapore

The car journey to Lake Kenyir from Kuala Terengganu took us less than two hours. We had prepaid for the Fish Sanctuary experience at RM10 per adult. Upon arrival, we paid RM2 for whole day parking. A boat which we had pre-arranged is already waiting for us. We left the jeti at 910am. There were already people at the Fish Sanctuary when we arrived at 10am. After a briefing, we were taken by our boat up Sg Petang to the start of the walkway. It took us 15 to 30 minutes to reach the natural sanctuary. Midway, we were told to buy fish food at RM2 per packet. (I suspect the fish are feeding only on fish food brought in by visitors like us. Is this right or wrong??) After half an hour in the waters, we trekked back and our boat brings us to Lasir Waterfalls. We spent almost an hour there and returned to the jetty at about 3pm. We actually drove and had a look at the Elephant Sanctuary. But the price was too steep with not a discount even for that late time in tne afternoon. We had a late lunch at Warung Mr Baung a kilometer away on the main road. The fish was well cooked especially the Baung Tempoyan.

Sekayu Waterfall

Reviewed By tinkikuttih - Singapore, Singapore

Since Terengganu has several waterfalls that is a must to visit. We just had to stop by 1 of them. So we opt to go to Sekayu Waterfall. A very small hike from the parking lot to the waterfall. Around 15-20mins. The steps are not so steep either. So it's convenient for both the young and old. Dipping into the water is a must. Cool cold water but really refreshing. It wasn't that crowded either. So just nice. Clean but still with some rubbish laying around.
