September brought us some extra sunny days. With our Grandchildren we went to the beach and because it was after September 15th, we were allowed to take the dog along. We love this beach because it is easy to get there with enough parking space and some bars, restaurants and clubs. It is not that crowded boulevard with cruising cars, hotels, and apartments. This time we could sit in the sun and the children played in the water and sand. The dog loved it, first running around and playing with the kids, later digging a little hole to lay down and rest.

Nice spot, charming snackbar included. You should try the "Mifune-Burger" !
Nice people & really good instruktors. You can book group lessons or lessons for single persons & they have a lot of nice equipment. So, there´s is no need to bring your own stuff to the beach. Thunbs up, can´t wait for the season :-)

Lovely, cosy outdoor theatre that hosts Concerts and dance Performances in summertime. Everyone from local heroes to international superstars have played this intimate setting and it's very worthwhile checking their website for tickets since it's open in the summer holiday season and sometimes you can still find a few tickets since the locals have all left on holidays.

DuneBiking is a great opportunity to see another side of Holland that you usually wouldn't see. Christine is a fantastic tour guide, leading us through the villas and estates of Bloemendaal, through the Forests and flower fields just south of Haarlem, and finally across the national dune reserves to Zandvoort and back. The landscape is beautiful and diverse...and you get to see it close up and first hand. Bicycles are available--they are new and in great condition (and are fitted out with 7 gears--very handy for some of the uphill climbs that come with this landscape--Holland isn't all flat). I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a unique travel experience in the Netherlands!

The garden can be visited for free 10-1700;closed mondayThe late dutch nature writer Jac P Thijsse was presented with this natural garden bij his friend at the beginning of the 20th century.Today the is an nature information centre showing his books and botanical illustrations. There are stuffed native birds from the Netherlands in the small museum room.In the garden there is a beehive and a birdlife-pond and lots of indiginous flowers.
