Salto del Trubunleo

Trubunleo Waterfall is just on the way to Laguna del Laja National Park in Antuco, Bio Bio (Southern Chile). This waterfall is surrounded by volcanic rock conformations. You can appreciate from the road or get an spot to picnic with a natural enviroment. There is a little cave and crossed by small creek.

Sierra Velluda Volcano is one of the main attractions in Laguna del Laja National Park. It is a dormant volcano with a 3495 metres above sea level. You can find an auto guided trail about 5 hours or do the 2 days circuit with local guides. You will enjoy a volcanic landscape with a solified lava river, waterfalls and glaciers. On winter you can do randonee.

At this point the water from glaciers and Laja Lagoon (the biggest natural reservoir in Chile) join to give birth to Laja river.

Tragedy of Antuco was the military's worst peacetime military disaster since 1927. After bad decisions 44 conscripts and one seargent were victims of "viento blanco" (whiteout). They walked without a special gear during a storm and got disoriented. Because of that they died frozen on the way. You will see the memorial on their honor just in front of Laja Lagoon inside Laguna del Laja National Park

Antuco is town in The Andes Mountain Range, this monument was built to honor the "Arrieros" (kind of cowboy). This is a local custom to grow the cattle on "veranadas" in the mountains. The "veranada" is a period of time that farmers go during all the summer with their cattle to feed them on the grassland in the mountains. You can get known more about this custom with local people.
