We (my wife and I) have been here many times. This concert was the best. I purchased two VIP tickets. Dinner and parking was included. The dinner was selected personally by the artist. It included salad, the main course, dessert and wine. The wine was a red sangiovese and a white Pinot Grigio from the Bocelli Vineyard. The winery is run by the artist and his brother and has been in his family for over 150 years. The main course was Veal Oscar and it was delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised. Dessert was a parfait and it was decadent. There were Belgian chocolates at each place setting to take with you when you left to go to your seats. The concert itself was fabulous with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and a University of Georgia Chorus backing up the Artist. The sound system for this event was notably improved. The clarity of the sound on the floor level was outstanding.

What a wonderful nature escape in the city! The trails are so well maintained (sad that the trails to the playground were closed for maintenance but I totally understand). Could spend all day here. We walked about 3 miles of trails before the kids got tired. Lots of places to bring a picnic lunch or relax. All the swings that were set up along the paved trails were awesome little stops if a break was needed. Loved the sound of moving water along many of the trails. So peaceful and relaxing!! Definitely will be back when back in the area.

Southeastern Railway Museum

The Southeastern Railway Museum occupies a 35-acre site in Duluth, Georgia, in northeast suburban Atlanta. In operation since 1970, the Southeastern Railway Museum features about 90 items of rolling stock including historic Pullman cars and classic steam locomotives. Museum hours vary seasonally. Take a short ride in restored cabooses behind restored antique diesel locomotives, stand next to the massive driving wheels of the locomotive that once pulled passenger trains to Key West on the “railroad that went to sea,” tour the business car that helped bring the Olympics to Atlanta, pose in the private car once used by President Warren G. Harding, and step inside a dining car used by FDR on one of his many trips to Warm Springs, GA. The mission of the Southeastern Railway Museum is to provide an educational atmosphere that will vividly bring to life the cultural, technological and historical importance of transportation to our region.

It's not a big, fancy commercial place. It's just a collection of old railway and other transportation memorabilia maintained by a non-profit organization and volunteers. If you're a fan of old transportation memorabilia, you don't want to miss this place.
