Steve is a wonderful person! I’ve come all the way from Bulgaria and so far I’ve enjoyed his museum the most in Columbus. The collection is really nice and the combination of his classic american cars from the 50-60s, his very rare license plates, signs and items is a perfect combo and creates an unforgettable experience. He knows his stuff and he will be glad to give you a tour.

Ohio Craft Museum

The Ohio Craft Museum is a small museum that promotes contemporary craft in traditional media, such as wood, fiber, ceramic, glass and metals. The museum displays four exhibitions each year that range from traveling exhibitions to juried competitions from member artists. Gift shops are open year round and feature unique handmade gifts by American artists. In the holiday season, the retail space is expanded to fill the entire gallery.

I've lived in Columbus most of my life and have driven past the Ohio Craft Museum and never knew what it was...until last week, when I popped in to see what it was all about. WOW! Pretty neat! There is a gift shop too, which I bought some things - OHIO (and some Columbus) artists - extra cool! The current event is called "Re: Tooled" by Howard Jones. It was really interesting and the events change throughout the year; I'm now on their mailing list so I'll get advance notice. I'm so glad I finally discovered what this building is and plan to go back many times, not only for the displays, but also for the gift shop! I believe there are workshops available to sign up for to.

For my third visit I got to see two great exhibits: Drawn to Presidents (Drew Friedman) and Ladies First (many cartoonists). The Friedman exhibit has great cartoons of George W Bush, Obama, Trump and others. He's a master of caricature. Ladies First samples a century of female cartoonists, from suffrage cartoons to newspaper comic strips (Brenda Starr, Sylvia, For Better or Worse, etc.) as well as work that appeared in magazines, underground comics and graphic novels. It's a lot to take in but the artwork is really compelling. I particularly liked The Hannah Story, by Carol Tyler. Check it out! If you're in the area, it's a no brainer. Plus there's more artwork in the main gallery, including some Calvin & Hobbes originals by Bill Watterson.

What a fun time! Grandkids really enjoyed the play area including a working fire truck simulator! The adults enjoyed the guided tour and displays. We were fortunate to have the director of the museum to do our tour! He made our experience come a live and also explained what they had done and were doing to keep it safe/clean.

This was an amazing interactive (TOUCH THE WALLS!!) immersive art experience that our entire family enjoyed. Highly suggest you get there right at opening because it gets busy quick and there are long lines! Be sure to check out the bathrooms as there is some pretty cool art in there too! Keep your eyes open for hidden little rooms and crawl spaces that make the place even more enjoyable!
