Mon Bridge

It is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand and it was built for comfortable transportation of people living in Sangkhlaburi and Mon Villagers. Nowadays the bridge is closed for vehicles but you can still walk over the wooden bridge. The bridge is a popular place to see an unforgettable sunset or sunrise at the dam. You also can take a bath like the Mon kids.

This photogenic pedestrian bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Thailand. It connects Sangkhla Buri to the Mon Hilltribe Village. It is in use everyday and regularly maintained. We visited at New Year 2020, so there were many people giving food to Buddhist monks early morning on January 1st. It is really worth the trip to see it!

Wat Wang Wiwekaram

We think this special temple is very beautiful and pleasant to visit. The other buildings in the temple complex are also beautiful. The best time to visit if you want to get a good photo is about 3 pm when the sun strikes the from of the building.

The Underwater Temple

This is the only place left above water when the dam flooded the village. Convenient and inexpensive boat rides are readily available, so many people visit it. We've been there 3 times, but it's never been crowded. An excellent choice for Buddhists and photographers alike!

I've been to Mon Village three times - its a nice village with beautiful views, Get some local rice soup for breakfast and offer food to the monks in the morning. Take a boat ride to the sunken temples.

Chedi Phutthakhaya

Very nice temple that contains artifacts of Buddha. Once you walk up the steps and after you make your offerings, be sure to ring the bells three times apiece. There are some very large and small ones. Walk towards the back and you will see a spectacular view of the lake. Note this is the same temple that you will see on the shore, if you do the sunken lake temple tour. Overall a nice temple, with a great view.
