Sri Venkatramana temple in Karkala ( Karnataka ) is also known as Padutirupathi It is informed by the devotees that Padu means west in Kannada and Tirupathi refers to Tirumala in AP. It is said that those devotees, who are unable to visit Tirumala, can have the same experience by worshipping the Lord Venkatramana in Karkala and have their desires fulfilled. Myself and my wife visited the temple last Saturday ( 27/10 /18 ) We went from Mangalore by Taxi, a distance of about 50 kms. We had an excellent darshan of the Lord Venkatramana and also the Divine Mother Sri Lakshmi. There was regular flow of devotees. Even though we were new, we did not know the local language, and there was no separate Archana, the priest there asked the names of me and my family members, did pooja for our sake and also prayed in Kannada for our welfare in front of the main deity. He was also kind enough to explain that prayer in our mother tongue even though he had only little knowledge of our language We sincerely felt that the Lord was showering His blessings on us. When we offered to put some money on the plate, the priest refused to take it. Karkala can also be reached by road from Udupi, about 36 kms. Really great and superb Divine experience, which cannot be put into words
