We were so pleased to find this place, it was a total hidden gem. You can walk for miles when the tide is out and we saw so many different birds and even a seal out to sea. We came back a second time and sat on the beach for the day. You can’t swim here due to great whites in the area and there is a high volume of boat traffic but that didn’t bother us. We were happy to walk this beautiful beach, sunbath and paddle. Very beautiful!!!

Harding Beach is on the bay side of Chatham and is wonderful for families. There is a large parking lot with easy access to the sandy beach. There are no waves here and a slow drop off so great for swimming. In the summer there is a lifeguard. We haven't seen seals at this beach and feel safer swimming for that reason although there is a shark warning on the life guard stand. A great place to visit or for a picnic off-season.

Blue water, purple & red flowers, greenery separated sandy beach area. 30 minute parking-plenty of time for photos, reading the various outdoor displays. Certainly not enough time to walk down to the beach area if planning a days outing. But definitely worth experiencing. You can see the shoals that claimed ships and lives over the years. Walk across the street to the Lighthouse; USCoast Guard properly and an obelisk monument erected to the crew of the Pendleton who were lost at sea as well as the rescuers. Beauty, breathtaking, and sad-all at the same time!

A lot of reviews will say it's great for little kids - and it is, but my son's 11 and he loves going to the pond. Beautiful view, nice stretch of water that can get wavy. Is saltwater - I bet some people see pond and expect fresh. Clean beach. Parents are good about picking up after themselves. Nice shallow spots along the shore. Can see hermit crabs, etc. Life guard presence is really good.
