Only stayed for transfer, wished I could have stayed longer
Reviewed By Barry NSuper nice hosts, clean and spacious room, delicious breakfast with eggs and ffresh orange juice and waking up with a view on the ocean… what a bless!. I stayed here only as a transfer option from Durban to Sodwana bay the next day but I really wished I could have stayed longer….

Amazing stay
Reviewed By heleenspies8This was an absolute delight. Magriet was wknderful amd frimdlh. The house is spectacular and the view to die for. Ir was so neat and clean and we had our privacy. The dohs lobed it and had their own little piece of graaa to run around on. We didnt have to worry to mich about them because everytbing is fenved of so nively that they couldn't bother other guests. Thank you so much

Mezmerizing view
Reviewed By 300dorothydI loved going to sleep with the sound of the ocean and looking at the waves crushing on the beach, all while lying on my bed. Only seen one monkey at our place the ti.e we were there. Daily cleaning made it so much better. Sharon and John was so friendly and welcomy. Having a bit of a knee problem, the lift made things much better. The breakfasts Sharon served was excellent. I will definitely go there again and quite soon. I would have loved if maybe the cheese platter in the morning cudda been served in the afternoon, if you there you welcome to have some, if not you miss out, or like a small sandwich platter. But this is just a thing I thought off. It made nothing for not having it. Everything was super. Even had an honesty bar. This is such a lovely place. I want to go again, and very soon.

A unique and retro motel situated right on the beach in the heart of Umdloti, North Coast KZN, is the perfect home away from home. Relaxed and positive atmosphere, with plenty to do. Each chalet is different in its own way, all self-catering. We offer our guests free WiFi, airconditioning, tv, bathroom amenities and the kitchen basics; fridge, microwave, stove-tops along with utensils and cutlery. There is a deck where guests can sit and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee, or relax in the evening and take in the sunset. The main coffee shops and restaurants are within walking distance from Surf Motel, and the beach a mere 10 metres away. Surfing, kitesurfing and fishing are the most popular activites.

Reviewed By ruckersworldWe absolutely loved our trip to Durban. The Surf Motel was the best place to stay as we went just to hang out on the beach and have fun in the ocean. The beach across from Surf Motel is the perfect place and literally mere feet away. Not as crowded as other Durban beaches and beautiful!! The motel itself is comfortable and cheery!

Lovely long weekend in Umdloti
Reviewed By azharn2015We spend a weekend at this lovely holiday town. The Sorgente 406 is a comfortable 3 bedroom unit with full kitchen and spacious living area. We really enjoyed the large patio with a built in braai right on the beach. The 2 bathrooms were very clean. The beach has a tidal pool right in front of the hotel. We were six adults who enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The warm weather in July was really appreciated coming from the Gauteng winter. On the whole a very lovely experience close to the International Airport. I will definitely recommend this for a large family to spend quality time together.

Brilliant location, great accommodation

The location is absolutely superb, on the north end of Umdloti Beach, right on the beach and pretty much the last property in Umdloti. The decor is really nice, mainly African art, the rooms are large and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the beach. Breakfast was in the dining room, again overlooking the beach - while we we having breakfast (good food and plentiful) we did actually see dolphins and whales swimming offshore. The host, Sharron, was welcoming and friendly. Definitely somewhere we would stay again. Only criticism was one slat in the glass louvre window was missing,
