Luxury night away

I came up for a friend’s evening reception. It was meant to be my boyfriend and I, but he wasn’t able to come in the end. The staff were lovely and made me feel really comfortable. The room was amazing! It was massive, really clean and had everything you needed. It felt a bit silly at first, staying in such a nice room on my own, but I enjoyed it in the end. I was a bit worried about coming back at night as the reception Isn’t manned 24/7. I got back at midnight and it was fine: really easy to park, let myself in etc. and felt really safe. The breakfast was delicious - I loved how you could choose exactly what you wanted on your full English so I wasn’t embarrassed to leave loads of bits on my plate! Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

I booked a room as a surprise for my fiancé for his birthday. The room was beautiful I was a little disappointed that the champagne, cheese board and chocolates weren't in the room to greet us as these were an expensive addition to our stay and I had to remind them to bring these! However this was a minor hickup as the remainder of our stay was perfect! The room was beautifully clean and I've never in my life had such a good night's sleep I wanted to take the bed home!! The staff at the restaurant were lovely and friendly and the food was perfection! Even if you visit just for a meal I highly recommend it! I will definitely be coming back and have been raving about the Admiral Rodney to all my friends and family. Thank you so much for making our stay so pleasurable and relaxing.

We have had two stays at At Last recently, 9 nights in total. This says it all! A lovely, tranquil house in a beautiful situation and a super welcome from Liz. We had a twin room with en suite, all very clean, plenty of wardrobe storage, hospitality tray, delicious Parkin cake one day and flapjack another. Very varied choice of breakfasts. Extremely helpful with local information which we appreciated.

Perfectly adequate B&B

Reviewed By Rick W

Laurel Lodge is conveniently placed in a quiet road on the edge of the village of Horncastle. It was 15 minutes away from the Lincolnshire Aviation heritage centre at East Kirkby and made a sensible overnight stop prior to attending an event there. Car Parking was off road and free. I was warmly greeted by Brenda and my breakfast was outstanding in quality and quantity! I paid a very reasonable £54 for bed and breakfast on Bank Holiday Sunday - good value. My twin-bedded room was quite large with tea and coffee facilities. The bed was comfortable and warm enough with sheets (rather than a duvet). The room had two chairs a wardrobe and a chest of drawers but nowhere to work at a desk. Everything was spotlessly clean. There was good free wi-fi. My only reservations are as follows: The decor of my room was quite tired and old fashioned. The furniture, decoration and carpeting were old. Even the hair drier was very basic and low powered. The en suite bathroom was tiny (I could only fill the kettle from the shower since the washbasin was so small) although the shower was large enough. I had only warm shower water - it never got hot. Finally, the hosts were a little over cautious about COVID-19. A handwritten sign in my room said 'Please sanitise your hands before coming down to breakfast' and I was asked to stagger my breakfast time to avoid meeting other guests. (In reality, I did meet other guests and it was of course fine). I felt such caution was unnecessary. I am not at all casual about COVID-19 but these restrictions seemed a bit pointless to me. However, I hate to write negative reviews and I must say that there is nothing wrong with Laurel Lodge. I'd stay there again and wish my hosts well as they continue their business.

Very Good Stay.

Reviewed By Paddy F

Cracking little place tucked away from it all , but close enough to places like Wragby & Horncastle, a pet friendly place that has a wood for a short walk round to take your dog, plenty of nearby walks , we walked down the road [ very quiet lane ] took the footpath across fields and looped back to the cottages, approx 3/ 1/2 miles but there are endless footpaths all over the Wolds. The cottage we stayed in was named the Stables, I double room and a single with 2 more singles on a mezzanine floor, open plan living room with fully equipped kitchen and dining table , 2 sofas and 1 armchair , comfortable [ take your slippers ] , no wi-fi when we were there also the tv signal is poor ,we were limited to watching BBC 1 and 2 due to constant signal failure , adequate shower room. Remember to take washing up liquid , condiments etc . We really enjoyed our stay here , quiet spot surrounded by open countryside , a 4 star rating is imho a fair rating for a clean and comfortable place to stay, would go back.
