Te-hytta Raulandsfjell

The path up to the Te-hytta starts approx. 6 km from the center of Rauland in the direction Haukeligrend on Rv 362. You will find a small parking lot on the right hand side of the road, and a sign to Raulandsfjell where the trail begins. The trail is marked and clearly visible in the landscape, and winds relatively steep up the mountain side. This is a rather hard hike, not suitable for people of poor health! . After approx. 45 minute hard walk you arrive at the Te-hytta and its viewpoint. The cabin is private, so please show consideration. The view point has a spectacular view of Rauland and its lake, Totak. You can keep on going from here to Raulandsfjell, but the path ahead is not marked trail, so bring a map and a compass. West of Te-hut there is another path down which returns on the road 200 meters west of the parking lot and where you started

Gjuvhovd

Gjuvhovd has become a very popular tour and is especially child friendly. The tour starts at Gjuvså in Tinn Austbygd and takes about half an hour one way. At the top you will find a great viewpoint with fantastic views over Lake Tinnsjö and Gaustatoppen. Along the route, many nice trolls are placed so that the children can count how many they find.

Haegefjell Nissedal

A GREAT HIKE FOR THOSE WHO ARE light on their feet – the mountainside is steep. The experience begins at the Fjone ferry on Route 41. The first part of the trek follows a dirt road, before entering a mystical forest where the trail quickly starts ascending as you near the mountain. Green, moss-clad undergrowth and ancient forest reminiscent of a fairytale wood with trolls and goblins. Once you have reached higher ground you will encounter the characteristic svaberg rocks that make the Nissedal mountains so unique. Although the route is steep, the walk to the beacon at the top of the mountain is easy. PS! Take binoculars with you and put them to use at the car park next to Landtaksdammen. Aim at the rock face and see if you can spot the climbers dangling from the precipice.
