The 8 Best Fun Activities & Games in Mansfield, Ohio (OH)

September 18, 2021 Terina Blouin

Despite having provided the backdrop to several Hollywood films, Mansfield manages to keep its all-American small town vibe. Its charming Main Street and Historic Carrousel District boast unique shops, galleries and an antique hand-carved carousel. The landmark Ohio State Reformatory has been the setting to several films, including The Shawshank Redemption and Air Force One. Mansfield's action-packed racing scene thrives at Mansfield Motorsports Park and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

South Park

Reviewed By Pannipannini - Maryland, United States

Mix two historic buildings with a small playground, among large and old trees - and you have an hour or more of peaceful play. We found this little gem of a park by accident and ended up spending some time here. Travel inspired Living says: “The Blockhouse in South Park has been a prominent feature of Mansfield for over 200 years. Built on the square of Central Park during the War of 1812 by soldiers from Coshocton, the Blockhouse was originally constructed to protect the early settlers from possible Indian attacks. Though the Blockhouse was used briefly in the capacity with which it was built, it did serve the newly formed Richland County as the first courthouse, jail, school and hosted the first religious service.” We hope to return if we visit Mansfield again.
