Weir Park

Popular spot with locals. Plenty of variety - with a fenced dog area, fenced and unfenced playground and excellent walking trails along the river. The Yanga trail that takes you along the bottom of the weir is a must see. Another interesting area is the walking trail past the dog area that has info boards that you can scan on smart phone for information

A cute little park with picnic tables, walking paths, BBQ’s, toilets and a great playground. Great for little kids and was easy to take the pram. Park was pet friendly too. A nice afternoon spent.

Green Lake

Reviewed By ET3121 - Greater Melbourne, Australia

During the drought and before the building of the GWM Pipeline you could actually walk into middle due to no water. After much local anger and dismay it usually receives a regular flow and currently sits at 38% capacity. Now that it’s filled with water it’s a popular spot for water sports. (As of this week it has been declared safe to swim after blue green algae outbreak) Green Lake receives water from a channel that is feed from Rocklands Reservoir and was originally used as a water storage facility but is now classed as a Recreation Reservoir. At times you will see people fishing (one of the best native fishing spots) waterskiing or using jet skis. An added bonus is that the much loved kiosk has now reopened.
