Nanzhuang, Miaoli County

Reviewed By nikoc52

Definitely a stand out attraction very beautiful and peaceful, stunning for photographs. It's a very spiritual place you will remember for a long time after visiting as it's very high up in the mountain, but it's definitely worth visiting. Just bring what you need with you though as no shops or drinks or food etc. from memory. Definitely highly recommended, really beautiful.

Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum

Reviewed By 408suzs - New York City, United States

be prepared to say: what? how did they do that out of one piece of wood!? Amazing talent on display in several well curated sections. Some pieces have artist statements some don't but you don't really need them to appreciate the work involved. I wish an English speaker or guild was available to answer some of my questions...but they will be left to the mysteries of life. NOT particularly easy to get to but worth the "struggle."

Naujhuang Old Street

Reviewed By williamtI4055PS

This is a typical "old street setting" with alot of street food to small restaurants. Need to navigate on narrow walk-way surrounded by vendors on both sides selling buns, traditional cakes, drink, umbrella, souvenirs, etc. There is an aircon building - Hakka cultural centre displaying the history about the place and the Hakka people (one of the chinese race). Car parking in one of several open-air carpark for only TWN100 (about Singapore $2) per entry - crowded and may have difficulty finding a space.

Taiwan Hakka Museum

Reviewed By AKLS - Melbourne, Australia

The Miaoli Hakka Culture Park was modern and spacious. It introduced Hakka culture and customs in detail and gave a good insight on the ethnic characteristic of the Hakkas. Well worth a visit if you are in Miaoli.
