Les iles Chausey

The island was an amazing discovery. We went straight to the beach on a trail that went through the private section of the island. Very few people on the beach, but especially the incredible, wonderful Silence. My son said he felt he was communing with Nature and it's true, the beautiful seascape and the impression of being at the end of the world put us in a meditative state.

Musee Christian Dior

The villa "Les Rhumbs", a Christian Dior Granvillian childhood home, Belle Epoque style, is perched on a cliff ridge overlooking the sea. It is one of the only "Museum of France" dedicated to a couturier. Every year, he presents an exhibition of Haute Couture models designed by Christian Dior and his successors. The garden, built in English by Madeleine Dior, the couturier's mother, is today one of the few "artists' gardens" of the early 20th century still preserved.

A must if you are Granville. The gardens are beautiful, with access to the sea. The museum is not very big but it showcases many of Dior's creations, often organised in thematic exhibitions.
