Skardu (Urdu: سکردو, Balti: སྐརདུ་་) is a city in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, and serves as the capital of Skardu District. Skardu is located in the 10 kilometres (6 miles) wide by 40 kilometres (25 miles) long Skardu Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers at an altitude of nearly 2,500 metres (8,202 feet). The city is an important gateway to the eight-thousanders of the nearby Karakoram Mountain range. The town is located on the Indus river, which separates the Karakoram Range from the Himalayas.

An amazing K2 base camp trek with Trango Adventure. I wanted to travel with a local company in Pakistan as it will benefit the local people and local economy. I chose to book my K2 base camp trek journey with Trango Adventure. They were local, knew the area inside out and ticked all the boxes. Office staff and the field crew were extremely helpful throughout the K2 base camp trek. Enjoyed every moment I spent in the mountains with my Guide and the friendly Balti porters. They provided clean tents and plenty of food. The highlight of the K2 base camp trek was, spending two night at Concordia under the shadow of K2 (8,611 meters), Broad Peak ( 8,047 meters), Gasherbrum (8,080 meters), Concordia is like no place you have seen before. Sparsely populated and extremely humbling, the rugged terrain that makes up Pakistan's Karakoram Range is just as impressive as you imagine. The huge peak of K2, the second highest mountain in the world, dominates the renown Baltoro area. Trekking to the foothills of K2 and Concordia is an absolute classic trek, highly recommended.

K2 base camp trek mainly involves walking over and marching along the world’s 5th longest non-polar glacier i.e. Baltoro glacier (63 km). At the end of Baltoro glacier is Concordia which is known as “Throne Room of Mountain Gods”. It is the supreme point for views of K2 (world’s second tallest mountain) and other mighty peaks above 8,000m. It is a legend that one night under the grand mountains in Concordia adds to life span of any soul by one year. Concordia is a glacial confluence of the Baltoro Glacier with the Glacier of Godwin Austen. Trek to K2 base camp and Broad Peak base camp is altogether a one day tour from Concordia on the Godwin Austen glacier. 5. Snow Lake Trek Pakistan - 21 Days
Snow Lake trek is a long and rigorous trek in the northern Karakoram mountains of Pakistan. It starts from Askole and after trekking the lengths of Biafo and Hispar glacier, we reach the valleys of Nagar and Hunza. I joined the tour group as a solo traveler, communicating quickly with the company. Guide and driver were professaional. very good hotel and mini van, Guide Rahman, led us to walk around the historical sites and villages in a special way to have various appreciation perspectives, knew all the best spots for the best pictures and this is only possible with advice from experts like him. We appreciated his assistance to take great pics too, with a lot of patience!! This was way more then what we expected and I wish to travel with them once again next time I visit Pakistan,thumbs up for the service all along!

If you are planning a big project in Pakistan I definetly recommend this agency! During our trip we had many logistical problems caused by the strong winter 2018/19. Hunza Guides solved all of them efficiently. The kitchen staff were magicans that served the best imagineable service! I'm looking forward to my next adventure organized by Hunza Guides. Without the brilliant work of Amir, his brothers and sons, our guide/BC manager Sahid and the staff our expedition wouldn't have been successfull... that's for sure!
